Oh you're beyond stupid here. A motorcycle can't stop that quickly due to the fact that you can lose control. Obviously a motorcycle is lighter than a car, but you don't have to worry about keeping your balance in a car. OR losing traction in your car as much as you do on a bike.
If I was in a car and we were both going 50 mph (80 kph), I would stop a lot faster than you unless if you really knew how to break. Which most motorcyclist don't.
You would stop faster than me if I was driving a very heavy VEHICLE. Meaning a big truck or some type of SUV. And yes, motorcyclist's can APPLY the breaks faster than someone driving a car, but if you panic and **** up and use too much back break or too much of your front break....It's over and if you **** up that, I highly doubt you know how to recover within the milliseconds you have before falling.
And let's assume a car is coming straight at you and you only have 2 seconds to react. I would rather get hit in a car than a motorcycle. Why? Because I'm protected by a lot of ****. You're protected by your helmet and your jacket (if you're smart enough to wear them). But you're still going to fly into the air and possibly have your motorcycle come over the car too and land on you.
But that's why you pull the bike down and slide on the ground if you know you're going to crash or fall. Better to slide on the ground than be thrown into the air.
But like I said. In a car you can stomp on those break without worrying about too much. On a bike you MUST HAVE KNOW HOW TO APPLY HARD BREAKING.
But even if you do have the knowledge, you still have disadvantages. The bike still has to keep itself balanced and you have to worry about tipping over, fish tail, slide, etc. If you're driving a motorcycle you have to be more cautious and you need to be skilled to hard break. Especially in dangerous situations where panic and time is against you.
You have to keep in mind that you're driving on TWO WHEELS INSTEAD OF FOUR.
Lawl laying down the...law(l).
To Lawl:
"You can only stop fast with a motorcycle if you know how to."
"You can stop faster with a car than with a motorcycle because everyone knows how to."
So, how about we rule out all the people who don't know how to stop their car? Maybe a person who doesn't know how to drive shouldn't have a license for their motorcycle? I don't know about your country but here you're not getting a license until you've proven that you can control your vehicle properly, and if you can't control it properly in the future, it's your problem when you get yourself killed. We ****ing spend a day and a hundred or two euros on driving on a flat surface covered with water so that we get a feeling for how breaking in slippery conditions works.
And I asked my father again, and he's still saying that a motorcycle stops faster than a car, in case they're average models. The only instance where a motorcycle stops slower is when the motorcycle has bad breaks and the car has insanely tight ones.
****. I guess I'll go kill myself with a motorcycle now because I don't know how to drive one.
I also beat an area in Order of Ecclesia, but then I entered the SKELETON CAVE, and there were human skeletons that jump over your head, and skeletons that have rapiers and are tough, and large skeleton dragon heads that shoot fireballs, and skeletons with magic sticks, and worst of all, dinosaur skeletons.
Damn skeleton cave.
I mostly agreed with Loller's post but there were too many "if"s and "when"s at one point to actually take it to heart.
Let's just agree that there are too many variables and you can't possicly claim that riding a motorcycle is 100% deadly while driving a car is 100% safe.
On a slightly side note, there are more chances for you to die in front of your PC than me having an accident on my motorcycle.
i c wut u did thar
How witty.
Possibly*
Noone said it was 100% safe to ride in a car and 100% deadly in a motorcycle, we said it was far safer in a car than a motorcycle.
Also, the fatality rate for motorcycles is 74 in 100,000, where as millions own PC's and the only time we hear of them dying one/twice a year when someone goes insane on diablo/starcraft/wow
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2006, 13.10 cars out of 100,000 ended up in fatal crashes. The rate for motorcycles is 72.34 per 100,000 registered motorcycles.[1] Motorcycles also have a higher fatality rate per unit of distance travelled when compared with automobiles. Per vehicle mile traveled, motorcyclists' risk of a fatal crash is 35 times greater than a passenger car
