It's not up for debate. I'll be making the post soon.

inb4 ****storm.
Arelquina made a thread nearly a year ago explaining that rules are still enforced in this section, so nobody should be surprised when their offending posts are removed.
The spam section is still moderated because there are forum rules that apply regardless of the specific subject of a thread, such as the rule regarding insulting other members. The forum is marked as spam because posts are allowed to deviate from the topic, not because any type of post is allowed. A post may violate other rules while also being spam, and the mere fact that it is spam in the spam section does not make it immune from all forum rules, just as inflammatory posts in the guild recruitment section are removed even if they are about guilds.
Why? First all these arbitrary rules about not using colored text or gif avatars and now this?
The enforcement of rules in the spam section is nothing new.
I'm not saying it isn't, Original brought that up and you already addressed it.
She's talking about getting rid of the whole section and just leaves that hanging in the air. I guess we'll just be left to **** up the off topic section, that'll fix everything.
If this section is removed, moving what's done here elsewhere won't be an option, trust me.
It's understandable that the forum rules should be followed in every section, regardless of its name. There is what appears to be some sort leniency in this section, which is just due to amount of people ****-posting here daily to sift through it all. It's not taken for granted by the majority, and it's really not even that much abused. And as in regards to personal conflicts, some realm sections are just as bad if not worse.
However, what I don't understand is why it would be necessary to rename the section, as the name is perfectly descriptive. And I hope that the reason for considering the removal of this section isn't due to the fact that it takes too much effort to monitor the entire thing.
It is perfectly descriptive, but that doesn't stop some people for using it as a poor justification to disrespect the forum rules and the moderators that enforce them. The removal of the section altogether is just a topic of discussion for now, mostly because we don't want this sort of behavior to spill over into other sections of the forum. I do hope that people don't decide to push it that far, but I will not hesitate should it become necessary.
For now, here's the official post on the situation.
I feel like there's a bit of clashing of ideas going on here.
" The forum is marked as spam because posts are allowed to deviate from the topic, not because any type of post is allowed." - Euphemism
"Going off-topic outside of threads specifically designated for such." - Grace
anyone care to explain?
Old rule.
New rule. (Or, rather, one that has already existed but was never applied to this section.)
Not for a gif containing phallic objects like last time.
