I'm able to breathe air without flapping my arms while falling from any height.

There's a huge difference between spasms in reflex from choking - which are pretty much instinctive - and trying to turn into a humming bird while gravity is laughing at your face - which really shouldn't be among the instincts of regular human beings.

But hey, good luck with your flapping, don't migrate too far with the birds.
Moving your arms against gravity would be classified as an attempt to slow yourself, to push against gravity and not reach terminal velocity. It's a perfectly reasonable (if pointless) instinct, even if human limbs have not adapted for it to actually work.

Bottom line, it's instinctive and you would do that too given the same situation.

Perhaps my brain just evolved past bird-level, while others' haven't.

Perhaps some people would have the "instinct" of clenching their teeth when someone is about to shoot them in the mouth pointblank - for "protection", of course. I'm comfortable not being among those.

I think the clenching of teeth might be more suited to (help) stop the screams afterwards.

You make it sound as if you are speaking from experience, which is unlikely as dead people tend to not use the forums.
You can't say what you would and wouldn't do until you've actually been in that situation.

    Guess what?
Neither can you or others dictate what I would do if I had actually been in that situation.
Although, granted, I, out of everyone, have a slightly better shot at knowing myself and how I might react.

Using examples of how others reacted in such situations, it can be predicted how an average person would act.
And it may very well be a better prediction than your own.

But Obnoxious isn't an average person, hm?

    Oh, no.
Everyone is a special ****ing snowflake, how silly of me to have assumed otherwise!

  9. But Obnoxious isn't an average person, hm?
He isn't a person. He's a sophisticated AI built to moderate and annoy you. I thought we went over this already?

Very silly. I expected more medve--nvm.

    He's rather sophisticated.
    His sarcasm feature is impressive.

Using examples of how other people act or react in any situation whatsoever I could state everyone is stupid, going by that "rule."
Would that prediction apply to you?

If stupid means flapping your arms to at least attempt saving yourself rather than dropping as a rock, sure.

  14. Thank you, I'm aware of what the word means. I was replying to what you equated it to a couple posts ago, rather than the definition.
