I'm not much of a payback type either, it seems kind of pointless. I'd only do it if I had something that I wanted to do anyway but didn't because he didn't want it... but revenge for the sake of revenge is silly.
I recently broke up with my now exbf too, and we both screwed up the trust of the other in different ways but we communicate about it and we can still be friends. Relationships are weird anyway, too much responsibility and random issues popping up.

After this move, friendship can not be possible. I refuse to have any contact with someone that not only betrays you, but has the nerve to do so for a long period of time while acting like everything is fine. It's actually worse than getting lied in the face.

Yeah, I don't blame you. My issue was not as bad. I was just bored of the relationship and wanted more freedom, flirted with other guys a bit, he read my FB messages when I was sleeping and dumped me. Because he read my messages (he actually did it twice but recently I didn't give a damn anymore if he does or not), I lost my trust in him and it really disappoints me how much of a jealous douche he could be at times, but no one ever loved me like he did, so I'm at least trying. We both made mistakes but we're very similar although very different from "normal" people so I hope it will be a good friendship.
Is there ever a reason to forgive someone that cheated in a realtionship? I don't mean once out of a mistake, but several times over the course of many months.
Give me a good reason not to kill this bastard.
Cheating doesn't happen by "mistake". "Oh my pants were open and she was naked for some reason. I slipt in a bad way, when I tried to help her up we got a little stuck and started to move but it took a while to get out of this situation.". But seriously, I would never forgive my girlfriend for cheating on me, doesn't matter how many times it happened. Relationships are build on trust, atleast for me they are. I don't understand how people can do it anyway, the knowledge that I hurt the person I love would eat me up.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I'm married to Ricks.
Agree. I wanted to make it clear before someone comes with some bull excuse like "maybe he got drugged/drunk/someone forced him and it was a mistake/he doesn't remember".
Unpopular opinion, but it can happen by mistake. Like when someone is drunk and there's a totally hot person near... instincts happen. I could forgive this kind of thing without any problem, as long as the guy is honest about regretting it. I mean we're animals, right... sex happens. It doesn't mean he doesn't love me, it just means he had the need to rub his ... somewhere. I'm one of the few women with this idea probably, but to all my sistas out there: learn to make the difference between sex and love.

because alcohol is an easy excuse? Oh I did this but I was drunk. People have no limits anymore and do everything they want and take no responcibility in it. Or blame the alcohol
