Look up "stand your ground" cases. It has basically been "someone punches and kicks me so I kill them." Or even worse in the case of my cousin, "I think someone will punch and kick me so I killed them." Let off completely, charges dismissed.

I can't find very many cases where stand your ground actually passed, but i'm not going to look through ten million.

There's four cases that I could find where stand your ground was not dismissed. Harm was done in two, break-ins happend in the other two. The last one could have been prevented, yes, but the kid had some form of disability and had already been punched. Stand your ground just says you do not have to retreat, but you still have to use reasonable force.

Stand your ground was denied. That doesn't fit with your post of you can kill anyone for fun and how you say you don't need to use reasonable force.

I was going to post that self defense will turn into an assault if you attack someone while they're on the ground. In Florida at least. So yes, shooting someone right away in self defense could get you ****ed.

Well, my lovely off-topic section.. It appears I'm going on a very long holiday. Indefinite duration really, so let me just wave at you all.

We all have a few sentences that have extra meaning to us. So I wanted to give you guys the gift of mine. My personal favourite, it's the first part of a prayer in Chinese, from a movie. But its meaning kindled a great deal of appreciation with me.

"Wuo-shang meyer, maysheen byen shr-to.."

meaning:
"I will close my ears and my heart, and I will be a stone. Please, heavens, make me stone."

Perhaps it will help some of you amazing people as it helped me.
