Latency with new server?

I'll check what my changed in my routing after work today. Previously I was routed from

Hyderabad > Mumbai > Marseille > Paris > Stockholm > Amsterdam

Will check what it is now

I finally found a couple of working proxies to route through Hyderabad and Mumbai but latency remains the same little sadist it is. -_-

The 200 ms to ALL french servers I can find (except OVH,RBX i.e. Molten's where I now get 700-1k ms) is driving me crazy. I am exhausted trying to find a solution for this. :(

Do you recommend the advanced subscription for the chained server ? I am playing a mage and the latency is really hurting . Please reply :D

Yes I use an advanced. Don't know how much difference it makes from normal as I never used normal.

@Awalker, it's not about Hyderabad. Almost all traffic from India goes out of Mumbai

The exit depends on your location and ISP I think. For me, almost all connections go through New Delhi even though I am from Kerala. I'll PM you the server IP address. Could you tell how your connection to it get routed (like you said before) and the current ping you get to it? :D

I think I found out the reason for high latency. All my traffic to game server is being routed via OVH's Canadian(Quebec) servers. Basically, it's sent from my home -> my ISP -> New Delhi -> OVH(Canadian Servers) -> OVH (French Servers, i.e. Molten's servers). On the other hand, signal via WTFast is going from New Delhi->Paris->OVH(RBX) directly. This explains why there is such a great latency difference between the two. I then tried to fix this by using proxies servers in India,France,Germany and UK. Sadly the free ones I checked did not help much. I'll try a few more later. Your route via Mumbai will help choose the better proxy. :)

Guys just use WTFast free version it will optimize you connection with direct eu connection.Bhut hi bakwass servers hain atm

Used to get around 310 normally past 4 days around 2-4k

with wtfast in am 190

Please also say which server you're using. Do you use autoselect for server? Or manually, any particular server (French/German/UK/Netherlands etc.)? Because I'm using WTFast and it only helps sometimes. Most of the time, during the day, it doesn't. Also please mention if you select the EU or US version of WoW in WTFast. :)

i tried using tracert on frostwolf ip, its hops throug singapore >miami>miami>france, why the **** it has to go all the way through america? on softlayer's host it hops through directly to london

For manual selection, I usually choose France servers since the game servers are currently located there. I find the second server (FR2) to have the best latency for me, but maybe that depends on my location. Also, try France(Choose best) option. If french servers aren't helping, you can also try UK ones. With french servers I am getting 300-400 sometimes, very rarely 250ms or so. I guess I'll just have to settle for those latency until this problem is resolved and stay away from the upcoming Arena (in MoP) -.-

PS: After connecting, make sure the estimated game server shown in WTFast is also France. Sometimes they mistake and show US for me, and this give very high latency (upwards of 1k ms).

While choosing select game and server - auto- wow-eu that works.
AND
when i do select custom game - browse- wow.exe - press ok. it says cannot run this game in custom ....... etc etc..
But when i rename wow.exe to wow1.exe or so and select custom game it works.

Any one here had to rename wow.exe file like me. or u guys had no problem selection custon game- wow.exe.

I choose wow-US. I don't know why but wow-EU gives worse ping than US for me. Maybe it's because the wow version I have is US. Not sure. Also, I only tried custom game once and didn't work. Will retry later.

I wish thrs working pathing method for us indian to reduce such high Ms.it's completly impossible to do raid with such Ms:(n molten cant do anything about it :(

Try traceroute to the actual game server. To get the server IP address, log in game, tab out, open cmd.exe and use :

netstat -np TCP | find "8085"

I read this somewhere on the forum :D
For me, my connection is getting rerouted to US before going to France (current server location). I've asked my ISP to look into this issue. If you have the same issue, contact yours too and see if they can help. I am not sure if they can, but there's not much else we can do about this. Also, the SEMEWE4 cable connecting Asian countries to Europe was cut recently and they expect to fix this by 6th March. In any case, traceroute to the proper server address should help narrow down the cause.

As for WTFast, it helps sometimes and it's better than other VPNs/Tunnelling/Proxy services I've tried. Good luck and please report if you find anything. :)

thanks i'll try ya(hope i wont harm the pc since i play in a cafe:D) thrs 2 mates in my guild who are from mumbai n today they said they have lower than 120-100 ms even sometime 50-60 on bsnl,at that time mai bus andar se ro raha tha T_T
