Graphics currently don't advance because they have to make games run on the "next gen" consoles. Even 30 fps is hard to pull in obsolete hardware

I'm extremely pissed with the console parity that is going on. How they deliberately switch off settings and even changes color palette just so that it can look the same on the consoles as it does on PC. As of right now, there is no graphical difference at all between PC and consoles apart from higher resolution and better AA.
Don't get me wrong, the game is good looking, just not "wow" looking... Not impressed at all, if it came out 3 years ago then maybe I would but as they've already shown how good the game can look and run on a PC before downgrading to make it look equally as good everywhere, that's the worst part.Edited: May 15, 2015

The world has to conform to Console Peasants and their ****stations and fake 1080@30FPS. Us PC users then have to either wait a lifetime for a game to come out with better graphics *cough*GTA5*cough*, or we get crappy graphics that I could run on my old 8800 GTX.

The worst part of all of this is that we PC gamers get ripped off with the expensive hardware components and the sick requirements due to lack of optimization and effort of developers part. Like this **** has to stop

Yup, there is little optimisation for lower-spec PCs when they do release something even if ti's a bad console port.
Not everyone had an enthusiast PC which is updated with the latest hardware. My PC is a year old and is bearly pushing some of the "Reccomended" specs for newer games.
Although I would like to give props to Rocksteady Studios. Got Arkham Origins running on Athlon 64 X2/Nvidia 210. Now that right there is good optimisation, since I run it on my beast (FX8320/R9 270) at 1080@60FPS on ultra and it looks freaking sweet.
There is no freaking excuse for poor optimisation for lower end games, potatoes should be able to enjoy playing newer games even at low quality graphics.

As a rule, I hardly care about graphics in a game (depending on genre) which is why I never sperg about it. Yeah I get it's frustrating but really now.

A good game shouldn't care about graphics.
I mean FFS I spend most of my time playing League, hardly a graphically stunning.
I mean GTA4 looks alright on ultra, but its so badly optimised that it refuses to run on a PC which meets minimum, even with everything on low, 800x600 it's 10-15fps.

I almost never cry. But last night when I came home. I go straight to my room to check on my computer because we had a huge thunder storm hit. So, first thing I notice is that my computer is turned off (I never turn it off). And when I start it, it made a slightly different sound than it normally does.
And nothing loads. My USB ports aren't working, monitors are getting no signal. So I thought my motherboard or something fried. I tried restarting it multiple times and it was like I was frantically trying to bring back a fallen loved one. So today, I was planning on bringing it to my brothers so we can swap computer parts and see what's wrong. So before I started packing up my computer, I decided to try one more time...
And here I am.
