    Need extra opinions on this?~

Well, I wanted to see if people could put in a little feedback on something I'm deciding on whether or not to do.

My question is: would it be worth it to donate $400 to completely gear out a Holy Paladin for raids?

So, I recently graduated from high school, and besides some of the money I've got stored away, I was given a check for $1000. I've been debating on what to spend it on, but seeing as I got a new laptop as well, I thought I would get back into Molten-WoW. I guess my account was either hacked, or lost during the change, or something, but either way, I haven't been able to get into it and get to my characters, which is fine. I started a new account, and made a pally to play around with.

I started to think about whether or not I wanted to do raids once I got a little higher in level, and I decided I wanted to start healing for raids and dungeons, once I capped. The thing is, I've not got much time left before I won't be able to come back for a while. I'm joining the Navy, and I'm about to sign in two days, plus they're predicting me to be sent off within the next month due to priority. So, I don't have nearly enough time to get myself geared up the manual way, if I want to get some raiding done before I leave for basic. I'll be able to play again in A School, but won't nearly have the time to grind every day, because of the studying.

I figured out I could donate $400 for 472 coins, and that exact amount would get me a full set of heroic raiding gear. I've never run FL before, and I've only run a few HC Dungeons before, but I would really like to get into them before I have to go.

So, would it be worth it to spend the money on? If not, it's just going to sit in my account for now. Plus I'll be provided everything I need during my military career, so I don't need to worry about saving it for food or anything like that. Please tell me your opinions, guys!

    Thanks for reading!~

In all honesty $400 is quite alot of money to splash out on a healing role that (i assume) you're new to. If this was me i'd test it out as much as possible and see if i did enjoy healing that much that it was worth $400 to me.

on the other hand if you've got a **** load of money and you really don't give a **** about anything then sure! Enjoy as much entertainment as you can before you join the Navy.

Once a wise man said, don't ask questions you don't want to hear the answers to

You will regred having to spend $400 bucks on something vertual and pixellated 6 months down the line. Instead buy something meaningful, accessories, clothes, heck buy food!

Ive turned a silent reader on the forums but seeing what you will be throwing into this game made me utilize my precious resourceful time into giving you a life-advice

I would say go read up about Account Recovery

U can't get back your toons but you can get back your coins, votepoints and some starter gear.

This way you can get ur old acc back, spend the coins there, then decide what to spend on :)

    Deng, you ballin' huh?
    You should share the love.

What expansion? If you're on cata/wotlk I suggest trying the class on one of the instant max level pvp servers and seeing how you like it.

Go on the vacation, buy good leather jacket etc... Wow 400$ for the game, insane.

People saying you shouldn't spend money on a game are talking out of their ***, it's not just about items in game, it's about being a considerate person and NOT taking everything for granted, if Warmane were to close because of lack of funding those people would either go play retail (which is hypocritical) or torrent other games, as for whether you should spend 400$ of items, I recommend that you first level a character to max lvl and do a few RDF's and see if you enjoy and/or are good at playing that class.

On contrary, you're the one talking out from the place you've mentioned with * symbol.

Your statistics about what people will do is entirely based on your own opinion. No one is obligated to fund warmane, only donate, and if you have that kind of money lying around then it would be thoughtful if you don't spend it entirely on one thing.

I suggest just donating for the weapon, try the class out and decide if you want to donate more after that. The server does need good donors but you also need to try to get the most for the money based on the fun you'll get back. On a personal note, you just graduated from high school, meaning real life begins now. In high school you live at home so every dollar you have is spendable, I assume soon you'll join the rest of us in the real world where 90% of every dollar goes to pay monthly bills, and 10% is spendable (except when something unforseen happens like car breakdowns). A responsible person would save away extra money for that, but everyone needs an entertainment budget. Most likely whoever gave you the $1000 was doing so knowing how the real world works to help make the transition easier for you. Downpayment on an appartment etc. You need to factor that in, decide how much is for entertainment, and spend those dollars on things like gaming. Just trying to be helpful/honest.

    Hey guys! Thank you for all the feedback, I really appreciate that people took the time to respond. ^^;

So, just to make a few things clear here, I'll respond to a few comments:

I'm not a PvP player, never have been, I've pretty much been doing PvE content from the moment I started playing the game. I'm playing on Neltharion, on Cata.

I tried looking in to account recovery, and it was essentially pointless for me since I couldn't get my toons back. I didn't have coins, and I didn't need the starting gear, really, I blew through levels so much it wouldn't have made that much of a difference.

Go on the vacation, buy good leather jacket etc... Wow 400$ for the game, insane.
    Vacation? Wha? o .o

I understand exactly where you're coming from, but the thing is I won't be having to pay for any bills or anything of the like. I'm joining the military, the Navy, to be specific, for Nuclear Propulsion Engineering. I'll start off at an E-3 pay-grade, which is about $1800 every two weeks, that really just sits in my account for later. I won't have to pay for any necessities, and after I get out, I'll be more than qualified (and marketable) for a job in the civilian world. I actually just spoke to my recruiting officer, and I'll be heading down to the MEPS station near me this Thursday, where I'll be finally swearing in. :3

And I'm super familiar with the class, it's a pally heals, something I've played a lot of, especially during retail WotLK.

Just in case I didn't put it in the messages that I'm responding to, or anywhere else on here, I'm fairly seasoned for the game. I played retail from 2009 to 2014, and the only classes I haven't done lots of stuff in are warriors, rogues, hunters and shammys. It's not that I want to try out a new class that I'm not experienced with, it's that I want to fill out its gear before I leave, so I don't have to grind for it first. The only thing I'm not experienced in is Cata raids, which I never got to do before Pandaria came out and most people lost interest.

And of course, I love the idea of donating to help out Warmane, this is by far the best private server I've ever played on, and I would hate to see it go down for good because of a lack of funding.

Again, thank you guys for your replies, I think I'm going to go ahead and gear him up once I get the chance, which'll be within a week or two. Still feel free to reply to the topic if someone wants to put in more feedback!

    Thanks again for reading!~

Ok let me restate. You get back ALL the coins you have ever spent. So it doesnt matter if at the time of wipe you didnt have coins.

Or is this $400 your first donation o_0

    Cheers

You dont know what is vacation, holyday or whatever? o.O Thats real life.

  14. July 8, 2015
Do it. It's your money, and if this is what you want to spend it on go ahead, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Warmane will greatly appreciate your donation. I personally wouldn't because I don't have that kind of money but only you can decide whether it will be worth it or not. It seems you're doing it because you want to raid as soon as possible, and just don't have the time to gear up properly so this is your only option, that's plausible enough.

    Vacation? Wha? o .o
    Holiday

my statistics are based on what people say on the forum and IRL about spending money on games, or did you think this is my first day here?
the OP wants to know if it's worth spending that money on a HOLY PALADIN, he does not need financial planning nor do I think you are good at it
