Back then Wow made a record in the world of games-13 million subs. Multiply that by 15$ per month/180$ per year and you'll get the number i mentioned. And Wow isn't even their only famous game. Now Wow still has 8 mill subs, so even now they have more than 1 billion only from subs.

Yeah i was a bit off, my stats were couple of months ago. But that one is irrelevant for our discussion, because i was talking about Wotlk period.
