1. Old Player - New Start

    Hey Everyone!

So, a little backstory; I use to play on Molten a couple years back. When Molten migrated into Warmane, I ended up with latency issues and was told everything was going to go to crap. So I vanished...
After a long struggle with other private servers, I've yet to find anything that even compared to this place. I want to come back soooo bad, but I'm afraid that living in the USA is going to make me lag too much or something stupid in which will prevent me from enjoying WoW. So, I have a few questions:

Numero Uno - I have a wonderful computer, but will being in the USA still make it "not" worth my time?
Uno + Uno - Is Mist of Pandaria still buggy as it was a year ago? Or have a lot of changes been made?
3 - Would I get a "Welcome Back" party?! Haha!

*For those of you wondering "Who's this guy?!"... I led 2 different Guilds a long time ago. Some people still might recall.
    - Warlords of Lordaeron
    - Knights of The Realm

Probably both dead in the water... Anyways, someone with computer knowledge please answer my USA question. :)

  2. Hello and Welcome back!

I'm a player from Canada, and the latency on Frostwolf is totally bearable and doesn't affect gameplay too much. When it does get bad, its usually because I have a terrible ISP and Canada has a terrible regulator that doesn't do anything about the oligarchy being run in the communications business here! (sorry for the rant >.>)

My friend from America gets even better ms than me, but she has a better internet plan than me, so that probably helps.

What is your download speed on speedtest.net, and where are you located? West Coast players may get worse ms, as I only know people from the East Coast.

Hey Hey! Well, I live over in Indiana.. So I'm assuming that's "Central USA". And I've tested my speed at 8Mbps. Not too bad so as long as my daughter isn't playing her shows on Netflix. When I use to play on this server before they moved the Hosting location, I was running BG's like butter..

  4. have played from east coast for past 2 yrs. i have had only the normal minor occurrence of lag. Present on every P server from time to time. Nothing noteworthy. its far enough in between youll never think on it.

as for warmane- you must, we must, keep in mind that they have had to restart everything from the ground up. i.e. a tornado took our house; so we must build up our foundation first, well worry about the windows, carpet, and choice of light fixtures in the future. The crash here did not happen that long ago... Some people will complain about the lack of hastiness of the devs> but its evident in the lordaeron project that Kaer and crew are on a mission. Some people scoff at this 'bogus attempt to rehash another failure'.. but what they are missing in Lordaeron- is that this is the foundation i just mentioned. The key to expand outward into other xpacs. Lordaeron is the concrete, MoP is the windows. The PTR realm speaks for itself.

You say you have tryed other servers> and here you are back. I have tryed 5 pservers in past 5mnths (for lack of a 1x LK realm here, and only for that reason)
and guess what > I am not only back, i never left. In my tally everyone of these pservers had good points> but, they had bad points also..be it low pop, screwed up AH...language barriers...dead forums...daily questioning of the future integrity of the server etc etc.. in the end, i never thought for a second i wasnt waiting for Lordaeron.
Point is: we Did have a crash, and many moltdown 'victims' are still here, even w/ XXX pservers out there
    #FoodForThought

Improvements are flowing in day to day, the work is starting to become very evident ; it is perhaps a little like Area 51 around here at times lately: tight lips, not alot of loose wishful thoughts and opinions and fun talk from devs . Its not a bad thing. They're busy pouring the foundation.

    * welcome 'back' btw !

This makes an entirety of sense. I wasn't quite aware of the "Revert back to the drawing board" concept Molten had to face when they've ultimately signed with another Server. With that in mind, the initial "oh ****s" coming from USA players was probably (and truthfully) the fact. Warmane became the core of a new era, which meant lag, downsizing, upscaling & renovating. I was a part of the "oh ****s" when this happened, thus freaking out.. I bailed.

It's actually soothing to see that there are a lot of Molt-members will on this Server. It's like the Old Kingdom meets The Robinsons. :) And from what I've noticed throughout the changelogs, there has been a high amount of fixes being performed (which is incredible).

Speaking on Lordaeron, I've skimmed the comments, hassling insults & joyous remarks. It sounds like they're reaching for the moon, but a lot of players don't feel it's possible.... All I care about it lowering the population on Frostwolf with the grand opening of Lordaeron. Hahah!

And thanks again for the advice and information.

  6. I'm from Brazil, and I play with 200 ping in this server.

And I don't feel any difference tbh.

  7. 150ms on average, once in a while I'll see the low 120s.
I'm on the west coast (US)

  8. Yes, depending on your internet and place, you'll have from 100 to 180 ms - and it's perfectly playable on it. Ms has mostly nothing to do with computer specs, so if your PC is as good as you say, you won't have any problems.
