1. You forget that those who farm gold and play might eventually leave the realm and let big amounts of gold unused.Blizzard's solution for this problem is its own population, more people means lower prices, because there are more items on AH,this mean competition and lower prices.
I see that you have a point there.
I personally don't care about gold, I just want enough so I can gem, enchant myself and repair gear/buy food, no need for tons of gold.
    Gold is just pixels anyway.
Even if they add a gold draining method or not, I don't care enough to talk about it so I'll stop here and just grab some popcorn.

  2. Let me get this one straight in reply of all the "make this and that cost more, make this and that award less money" - if anything, the point is to create a gold sink so that rich people can SPEND their money, not to steal it from them (and from also those who arent even rich.)

If you already began a thread about gold wastes, start making projects that will allow money to be SPENT worthy rather than to be just taken away, literally stolen as taxes, fees or increased cost on anything wont give them anything in extra, they just lose money compared to a normal x1 rate server.
In case its not clear to anyone why:
1st, 90% of the ideas you posted, increasing flight cost, rdf gold charge, increased mail cost, let alone the periodic gold dump (...wtf srsly?) etc etc, will affect all players equally since they are commonly used features. As others said above, you are basically proposing taxes. It will not successfully differentiate the rich and the poor, and the result would be that people who arent big time gold farmers wont even be able to afford flying.

2ndly, you cant just take away the gold someone rightfully earned. Its something that has a value, even if he has 2million gold. That means he has 2million gold even if the AH items cost 2k max., then he can afford buying 1000 of those items. He probably farmed his *** off to earn it. Limiting gold caps to discourage players to farm so much money is another weak idea, firstly, skilled farmers will find a way around it (more alts, more accounts, friends accounts, and you can also store gold in mail ) AND even if they dont, why would anyone want to discourage nerds from playing the server all day to farm stuff? No server would be happy to scare off its own players.
All you can do is create additional options which are much much more expensive (not regular game mechanisms ! so it will only affect those that willingly burn their money on super expensive items or features)
Black market kind of served that purpose although i have no idea what patch it was implemented.

My most useful idea would be to make all the items available on coin shop accessable for ridiculous amount of gold (non gear type of items) Rich kids will buy them for coins, farmers will dump their gold on it. And then gold/coin trading could be rightfully disabled as well since they would be equivalents on a fixed price. (since Warmane will need to work out a coin shop system allowing donations without flooding the server with BIS gear anyway I suppose it will be vanity stuff, pets mounts etc...)
    i. eg. you can make a 20 coin cost rare pet equivalent to 200k gold. That is around the original wotlk gold cap. Very few people will actually have that money on a x1 server to spend it , especially on a ****ty pet, but the most crazy farmers and collectors will still do so - and thats how a gold sink works.

PS> (edit) one thing I forgot to add, the most most most richest players are the kind of cheaters who dupe items etc, so as a sort of prevention, finding a way to detect and ban these people could also benefit the economy, but that is probably much more difficult to implement than a gold sink.

  3. why so much ideas for gold drain? just keep it as it is for now ... i mean, past lordaeron was flooded with transfered ppl and instant 80s so it was really a mess but who said there is a need for it now?

I don't really know. I just though of that gold rate change because the devs proposed the Gold Drain mechanic as a suggested feature

  5. We need ideas which don't affect the Blizzlike feels. Like Garamir said, why don't we find ideas to make people spend gold?

So it will be unfair for player who like to work hard to get gold if we start removing gold for just Draining reasons. We need ideas so that people can spend gold and feel rewarded for their hard earned gold.
Dude read previous stuff before posting...
