If that's what you meant by it, then your post contradicts itself. Especially the first line vs. the last line. Which makes it even more nonsensical.
There's quite a difference between "not trying hard enough" and simply not usually being interested in hardcore "professional" competitive gaming, or having other responsibilities (like tending to their place or kids) that don't leave them with enough time to get into that.
All of these replies seem to assume we are following typical male and female stereotypes.
Keep in mind:
*Some* game developers might be trying to appeal to a target audience, but they are by no means actively trying to prohibit anyone at all from buying their games. Adding features to a game such as more hairstyles benefits all players, not just females.
My point in all of this is when the topic comes up in global a lot of annoying teen boys will scream and argue for hours implying that everyone on the server is just like them and to believe otherwise is a fallacy. They will go on to describe any female players that exist at all to be "fat" or otherwise unattractive to their incredibly limited virgin imaginations-- because you know, if a female isn't attractive to them they might as well be a guy. All of this tends to be started when some other teen ****boy tries to use global like it's a dating service.
The beauty of playing an online game is: You don't actually know who anyone is, whether they are male or female or where they're from or how old they are. KEEP IT THAT WAY. Stop trying to hook up with people on WoW. If you're lonely, go outside and meet people in real life.
All? Why are you under the impression I'm following any sort of stereotype, much less a typical one?
If you want to stereotype people, fine, I'm not going to argue with you, because it's really not worth the effort. But don't try to shove that cookie down my throat.
You don't say?
I'm not trying to hook up with people, but who are you to say that getting to know my friends in WoW better is wrong? Don't try and force your preferences on me.
*cough*Jyx*Cough*Illy*Cough*afewothersIcantrecall* cough*
No, sadly Illy plays on MOP... There is just me on Cata afaik.
Pretty sure only you think this way.
used to anyways :C well she wasnt ranked, mostly bg but still! :x
Well at least my memory (Jyx) still lives on, even if I name changed :3
everyone loves Jyx :3
So... with or without balls?
How would you know? I've seen you say many times that females don't play WoW and if they do, they are fat, wh*res and many other insults.
God where do I even begin with this?
First of all, it is not within my power to force you to do anything, nor was it my intent to try.
Your entire reply suggests you think I was addressing you directly and no one else. Well, I don't know you personally so I can't say whether or not you are trying to hook up with people on WoW or not. If something I have said does not apply to you then you don't need to worry about it. Moving on.
The fact of the matter is, the issues pertaining to this thread stem almost exclusively from people who actually are trying to hook up with people on WoW-- this includes those who are using global like it's a dating service as well as the ones who vehemently deny the existence of females on WoW. When guys on global pop off and say "There are no girls on WoW" it is because they themselves secretly wish that there were-- at least ones they could know about and live out there fantasy of meeting a potential mate for either romantic or sexual reasons. They are venting their frustrations and projecting themselves onto the one guy who has just said something about "looking for a gf" or something similar. The reality is: There are plenty of female players online at any given time-- just none that fulfill the desires of those who are arguing about it on global, and none that wish to make themselves known out of fear of being pursued and harassed by said players.
The majority of players, particularly women wanting to just play the game and not be bothered with guys flirting with them, will keep their personal details to themselves. If they feel comfortable enough with you to share that kind of information, then that's fine.
The problem is when guys on WoW rage at anyone who claims to be female, or even knows one that plays the game, or even criticises a male player for playing a female character or vice versa.
