I understand your point but negating people's movement speed does not make you particularly mobile. Your snare is not affecting your movement speed, it's not affecting your mobility. It's just slowing your opponent. If they get a HoF/Dispell/CC that slow is negated completely or partially. I say death knights are immobile because they don't have any abilities that MOVE/CHANGE the positioning of their character instantly/fast, that's true mobility. Stop looking at this as a 1v1 as well, we are talking about a class in general- not a duel.
Do you really have to ask?

Ok, let me give you a real life example, maybe you'll understand better.
Lets say you're a human in the wilderness and there is a cheetah. The cheetah is pretty mobile, it can run fast, jump long, while you as a human can't keep up with the mobility of a cheetah. But you have a gun, and you are hit capped. You shoot the cheetah in the ****ing knees, breaking his legs, making it unable to move or jump. Now, even though your mobility was pretty low, it's extremely higher than the cheetah with his legs broken.
I gave you a basic battleground/arena example with the line of sight death grip, where you're protecting a third person by shooting your enemy in the knee. Quit looking at mobility like it's a black and white thing.

Dudu, druid, or druid. Best class in WOTLK. Go boomie, pop starfall, dot em up they will drop before you know it. If they, for some reason, don't, knock em back with typhoon, pop a rejuv, and redot them, trent them, wrath them (quick cast) if they are still up, cyclone them, heal to full, repeat dots/wrath rotation. If they are still coming at you, if melee, kite them, rejuv yourself, spam dots (which are instant cast)- if caster, well then they are probably dead by now anyhow, as casters tend to be squishy. Oh, and don't forget barkskin, super nice for extra defense but more importantly, no pushback when you are casting wrath. Good times. xD
FINALLY!
Found it yay. been trying to reply with this video since I Saw your post :D

lol I love it. I have heard a ton of WoW songs, but not this one. Thanks for the post!
LOL I did not even pay attention to this argument going on.
Ok, overall Ackolay4 is correct.
sale1337, just because you can lock-down/reduce the mobility of other things (meow!) does not make yourself any more mobile than you were before.
You are correct in the fact that, IN RESPECT to the now "locked-down" thing, you SEEM more mobile. BUT you HAVE NOT gained any mobility.
Ack's references to "charge / dash / etc" are mobility increasing moves, yes!
The reference to "death grip, desecration, and chains of ice" are NOT mobility increasing moves. These "lock-down" other things to reduce THEIR mobility which would make it SEEM like you have more mobility. But, in reality YOU have not increased your own mobility.
Now back to the pure Death Knight reference: they are "immobile" dpsers. They specialize in "locking-down" their targets and preventing them from getting away. IF the target gets away, they seldom can "catch-up" to "mobility" classes. But, they do have the skill set to "bring them back" (death grip). This type of game play is considered "manipulating your opponent".
The warrior / feral druid examples: they are "mobile" dpsers. They have some abilities that "lock-down" their targets, but IF their targets get away, the warrior and feral druid can INCREASE their OWN mobility to compensate. As in, they can LEAP or CHARGE at their target to make themselves Catch-Up. This type of game play is considered "manipulating yourself".
Yes you can dive even deeper into semantics of the game play, but overall I hope I cleared up the fog a little bit.
NP, was killing me metaphorically to remember it >_<
