Why did Kaer say "if current 158 points would become 15 points, an item that currently costs 58 points will cost 5 points" but not implement it?

It was decided the calculation would be changed to make items less easily obtainable. It can change again in near future, but maybe not. More items will be added in time.
The announcement from Kaer was made before the marketplace redesign was decided. Before, professions, bags, gems and other items were available and with a cheap price, you had to click a few times once a day to obtain them.
And remember MoP gear is not at it's last tier. Once it reaches the last tier, everything you buy from the marketplace will remain on your character forever, unless you get to the heroics. It needs to be difficult to obtain the best gear available.

I was going to post about this same issue. I surely hope the Cata point shop is not complete. At this point there is no reason or motivation to collect points and keep my account in good standing. Even heirlooms would be enough to keep it going.

It would be helpful to get an official word as to why it is this way and if this is the way it's going to be. I could save a few moments of my live every day if I didn't have to go to the warmane site and click "collect points". :P

Its really not that hard to click a button for free stuff though...

free stuff that has no use/need. at best it would work for a newly made 85 but then thrown away in a couple of days of playing. How many days of point collecting to get a pvp weapon? 40 or more? Then do replace it with the honor point weapon after a few days. seems kind of pointless.

It's definately not going to stop me from playing. Would just like to know if this is how its going to be or if its still in progress of being completed.

I agree, they should at least have firelands normal / ruthless gear available

No cool transmogs, no mounts, no pets, nobody even used point shop to buy gear, people just bought pets, mounts and mogs, but that was exactly what I was expecting to happen when they announced the changes and everbody seemed happy about it lol

And again we get the feeling that warmane staff doesnt communicate with each other
