Donate for great Lordaeron

So - it's no secret that the kind folks behind Lordaeron are real people with actual bills, lives, and families. These guys have taken a huge amount of effort, and personal risk to be able to bring us the unique gaming experience that many of us are currently enjoying.

The first thing I want to say before anything else is - if you like this game, go donate something RIGHT.NOW. Like, before you even finish reading this (if you are going to), go get some coins. GO NOW! THE FUTURE OF LORDAERON DEPENDS ON IT! (and no, I'm not secretly an employee) Anyways...

The bottom line is, there needs to be money coming in. To pay for server costs, salaries, and development. Money coming in is good for everyone. More money means that Lordaeron is able to progress. Bugs are fixed more quickly, features become available more readily. I think we can all agree that those are things we want.

Since I've arrived here it seems like there has been a great deal of dissention in the community about how this should be structured. Some people are of the opinion that buying cosmetic items and limiting gear availability is the way to go, while others think that gear should be available to increase income at the potential cost of some frustration by the more hardcore type players. One thing that most players seem to agree on that a subscription would not be the way to go.

So, community. I ask you this: How can we make this happen?

Obviously, use the already existing donation methods. If you enjoy mounts, or if you fall behind a tier in gearing at some point because you had to work a couple extra shifts, or your house burned down, or whatever. Spend some coins. Most of us have jobs, we KNOW that you have money. If 1/10th of the players on Lordaeron even donated just 10 cents for every hour of gameplay they had enjoyed - that would be an enormous amount.



This is just another random idea too, but I would be thrilled to donate to a Warmane led kickstarter-style initiative where we could even just donate towards specific things that the server needs. For example, DDOS mitigation measures, or specific features or things that the staff were interested in implementing. I'm not the type of player who really even wants a shiny mount to show off... I'd rather have features. But that may be just me!

So in TLDR; Donate because you told us to do it? I tho Warmane already had DDOS mitigation but i might be wrong in that regard. I have coins from farming gold so i'm fine with the coins department :)

I totally agree with OP.

I'm just waiting for "end content" to be realeased. But they really deserve something.

I know plenty of people going through the game seeing new zones for the first time enjoying the "terrible mistake". Last I checked there's a lot more world questing zones than raids.

Yeah I'll be sure the first thing I do when my house burns down is to donate so I can get that tier of gear I need in World of Warcraft.
