So, I've read about 5m ago on my general chat that two players got banned for powerlvling
I'd like to make this clear, why is it bannable and what exactly did they do, pls. Going outland at lvl 1 with mage portal and kill mobs with 70 char in party? Playing two clients and go dungeons? It's the very first time I've seen this, and it's something that I don't wanna do it considering it is against the rules and considering that there are ppl that has no clue what exactly is bannable
Thanks
PS - No, I'm not those who got banned, I'm just confused... lil bit
- Back on Cata or Pandaria, people would take low level alts to Uldum and kill lvl80+ mobs and therefore getting insane amounts of experience (exploits).
- There is a legal type I think? The one where you take low level into a dungeon (dungeon for his level) and boost him, killing mobs with a high level character.
- And of course the one where you go around with your low level guy, tag mobs and a high level guy (who is not in the party) clears them, therefore giving 100% exp to the low level guy.
Posting this info is a risk I guess, people could get some wild ideas. I don't know if it's not allowed for me to talk about this in such details, I apologize if it is. No hard feelings if the post gets removed.
A character isn't meant to get xp from "skull" monsters. When someone takes a lower level character to get xp from that kind of creature way past their level range, they are abusing a bug, which is obviously illegal.

These two here are legal on retail, and since the dungeons/Mobs without skull are within the players level range they will give full XP.
I used to power level people on MOP Retail from 85-90 in a few hours for good amounts of gold.
Going around tagging mobs when outside the party and letting your high level friend take them down for you is legal? Hm.... I could reach 70 in few days that way...
It'd be a nice if a staff member would confirm what is legal / illegal.

What you describe here is referred to as "mob tagging" which is allowed on retail at least so I would assume it is allowed here as well, provided you don't go about it as described earlier, by killing "skull" mobs this way.
Permanent bans are reserved only for the players that are not meant to ever step foot in our community again. They're only dished out for the best interest of the community and never otherwise and dished out for the worst of exploiters, cheaters and repeated offenders.
Power-leveling is allowed in it's normal sense of word, the way it's done on retail. What people got banned for is an exploit related to something similar to power-leveling.

I´ve got banned for Power-leveling for 4 Days. I simply tagged the Mobs and a high level Player killed them for me. If it´s allowed then please explain the "related" methods of Power-Leveling.

The mobs you were tagging were skull mobs and shouldn't have been giving you XP, thus exploiting.

As far as I can remember there is a calculation table where it´s explained what amount of exp you get, EVEN if the mob is skull level. Therefore you get exp but its calculated for your level.
