Nah, I don't think that's the case. We always expect that to happen, and we have (paid, and costly) defenses to deal with that, but it's not like flicking a switch and ta-da! attack neutralized.

I would love to abit see more professional answers from moderators, there is no reason to get provoked by people. I'm sad with the postponing since last evening before I went to sleep, I checked the front page and saw text "will be released 10th of dec.." etc. This morning the date was changed to 12th.
It's obvious that there came some unexpected stuff (because the announcement of postponing came so late). People get pissed and throw **** at staff, but it's no reason to go and argue over the internet. Especially when you're moderator. No offence to anyone
I used to not like you Obnoxious. I always thought you were a bit short with us. But this thread was a tipping point. We bring it on ourselves.
If I had been you, I would have broken down and posted a max length rant by now about how ungrateful people are to be getting so emo over a FREE SERVER doing what it needs to, in order to release content as bug free as possible to avoid even more whining, and then given everyone who even looked at a staff member sideways a lengthy forum ban.
I now see that you have actually shown a great deal of restraint in the face of the ingrates that can't understand the logistics of keeping such a sizable, varied community from imploding. So, thanks for trying to keep us informed.
To the rest of you people freaking out about the 10th vs the 12th, I myself had vacation days to burn so I decided to use a few for wrath on the 10th. Since its not to be, I will still be enjoying my 5 day weekend. Go outside or something, and let them unleash wrath when it is as ready as it can be.
The prob is that everyone always speak for themselves, like "hey i prefer 10th cuz i'm bored at 70 doing nothing" "hey i prefer 12th beacuse i have an exam at 11th" "hey i want wotlk in 1 month cuz i wanna clear all tbc content" etc etc u get my point, then ofc each post on main page will result in 10 qq'ing topics
People need to listen to the major of this community, to what is better for us in general, to give their opinions based on what it is the best choice for the server. I mean, come on, 2 days difference? That's nothing which hurt players. What worries me is the fact that wotlk may be released during weekend, which there will be tons of people in the same place, causing mass lags and dcs. So I say again, either 10th 11th or 14th+, but that's my opinion

Just so you know how misinformed you are, most of the servers when DDoS'ed spend hours offline, sometimes days, a few ones take weeks. How many minutes you spend waiting for us to block the DDoS on warmane? That's it. We will most likely always be attacked, because the competitors believe this is the best way to attract users to their servers.
Lol, you know what? Sometimes I think the "lack of communication" is so alarming that community does it on purpose to see us talking. :(
I get it. And im speaking for myself when I give you the date id like to see it released: when/its/ready2015.
Pretty sure they understand the way a release works, the inner workings of how to release it, and what they are in for infinitely more than we do. Just sayin. Its easy to be outside looking in. We are all gamer nerds here. We are all passionate about being able to play when/how we like. But don't take it out on the staff. They work as hard as they can, and take a LOT of sh1t from us.
Unless I receive it as an explicit and direct order, sorry, but I won't just get thrown **** at and bear it in silence, especially as a Moderator.
If you are expecting robotic answers customer-service like, sorry, you won't see. All Moderators are humans and I support a casual approach when posting around. Of course, we will avoid insults and gibberish, but don't expect us to be passive towards the same when thrown at us. Be educated and we will answer educated. Be rude and expect rude answers.
People forget this isn't some mega corporation with needlessly strict rules on its moderators/other staff when it comes to responding to the more toxic variety of posts, though yeah I would hope you refrain from insulting and having it devolve into a slapping contest :P
Keep going guys feed this topic its always fun, when i have free time, to come over this place read and loling every time.
Pst:About time Wotlk is coming HYPE 10,12,15 or even Secret Date(I like surprises) it doesnt matter at all just enjoy the free realm that warmane gives you. On side note prepare for lags cuz of the 1k-2k players doing the same Northrend starting Quests(I don't QQ about it actually i love this part and i can't wait for it) _^
damn ppl its just 2 days wow, i mean i wouldnt care even if it was more and it was expected to be delayed with alot of threads about milion bugs and other QQ, anyway 1 thing some1 said here that i think should be used is to release the patch in low popup time, somewhere around 3 am, but my guess is gms got other things to do during the day.
its like those posts about ppl that will be just *****es with every scenario - if they release it now with alot bugs u will complain, delay it to fix things - u still complain, not doing anything? continue complaining.
actually high ping was at the opening (vanilla times), when TBC released and alot of ppl were questing in the same place it wasnt that bad, yeah some crashes but other than that , was alot better than what we had at the beginning and now u got borean tundra and howling fjord to lvl up and not just hellfire
Edited: December 9, 2015
Yah it's gonna be cool 2 different far away zones in different paths with the Questing
Well, the job of a moderator is to moderate the discussion. A mod should have a rather neutral position and only intervene in the discussion when somebody hurts the forum rules.
The problem is that u have often no neutral standpoint in discussions. Im not talking about this thread here, rather when it comes to topics like for example multiboxing or a pve server. When u share ur personal opinions in such topics then u are posting as a player and not as a mod. In this case u should consider to post on a different forum account.
It looks kinda unprofessional to see a mod that is often deffending his own standpoint and not the standpoint of the Warmane staff.
My position as a Moderator doesn't keeps me from having a personal opinion, and I should have "a rather neutral position" when enforcing the rules. I also identify what is from "us" and what's my personal opinion. I have no need at all to "hide" under a different account to post my personal opinions and interact with the community. There's nothing "unprofessional" about having a mind of your own and voicing your opinions in discussions, and I can separate things (better than you, it seems), since I have defended standpoints I personally disagree with on multiple occasions. Of course complaining about the opinions of a Staff member when they are opposite to yours is nothing new anyways.
Honestly, I don't know if to say anything because then I will have a bunch of 20 stupid subhumans commenting with their already broken brain saying crap that makes no sense but it does inside of their head, but let's do it, who cares.
I do think Lordaeron is a great project, but it's also probably the most toxic & stupid community out there.
And how could I not mention those pseudo specialists talking crap about how to deal with DDoS or any technical issue, it just blows my mind. If you want to complain, at least bring some actual facts with proof, and just don't let your mouth run because you're too stupid to do that.
And of course, even if it's quite clear already I'll have to say it so these stupid subhumans don't have to spend 20 hours trying to think, but yeah, let's do it:
it's all just my opinion on the matters.
