It's quite simple, PvP realms are way more popular overall both on retail and in the private server scene. That is the reason why most servers go with this choice. World PvP after vanilla is a small part and it isn't a big issue because you'll be rarely ganked. For me personally, a larger issue was the amount of players doing the same things I was doing and making it more difficult for me to find mobs and get quests than the occasional guy killing me in my leveling experience.

This is also important for people, they like the fact that levels matter and that their quest work and time they put into their character also matters. It is important for a level 80 to simple swipe you off the face of Azeroth in one move. The time that player invested is significantly larger than yours.

It is also the sense of immediate danger that people love. I love the feeling I get when I'm going through a rainy jungle full of tigers, panthers and animals that can rip me through shreds and then the possibility of someone powerful crossing my way and reminding me that I'm still a weak character with scraps and just a few copper. Some day when you reach max level you'll be that powerful hero with shiny armor riding your tiger and then deciding to whip that guy or be merciful and let him be. That choice, that power, and possibility of retaliation when that guy in leather scraps comes back with his friends is priceless and unique.

That is how I feel about it, and I think a lot of people do as well. After all, this is World of Warcraft, not Hello Kitty Island Adventure. My opinion doesn't necessarily represent the entire staff in this case, I just wanted to dish in my 2 cents.
I think the same. And there are a lot of others that think that I can bet on it. Still to be reminded how weak you are for 6 times in a row till your button to accept ress reaches 5 minutes, not cool.

Good for you. Real PvP player will roll arena every day, bg every day, he will also participate in opposing faction city raids. DBags that camp leveler that is not PvP.

Max is 2 minutes, just sayin.

Running over the map to your corpse by foot also included?

I dont remember succesfully mounting fly mount on level 60 on Lordaeron 2 days ago. So I could leave area swiftly and level in other zone and not to be camped.

  5. This topic is ridiculous and made even more ridiculous by this moderator that seems to suggest that the difference in amount of PvE and PvP content somehow has a bearing on the "right" and "wrong" activities for players on this server. I don't understand that line of reasoning, as I see no bearing in how the number of quests/dungeons/raids/gear has any effect on the ability of individuals to decide to create a character on a server that gives advance notice that they will be subject to attack without warning or consent. Ridiculous logic.

The only valid point to be made are the frustrations of people being actively camped by significantly higher levels to the point they can't do anything for an extended period of time. This is griefing, which Blizzard also does not allow. So, any arguments that pertain to griefing really should be centered on Lordaeron setting/improving/modifying its griefing policy. Changing the server to PvE to address that sole source of frustration is beyond disproportionate on balance to the expectations and notice that everyone had when they decided to play here. I would suggest focusing on that line of suggestion instead, as changing the state of the server will never happen, as it shouldn't.

Agreed. As they implemented BANHAMMER on Ninja Looters after 4 years. They could implement the ban for lets say 1 day for griefing. or 12 hours.

actually ganking low level players in populated area for example hellfire its pretty good way to get some good PVP because they start to cry in global and soon or later max level players come to help them.i have seen this ganking become really big Wpvp fights before.
when molten release first MOP realms there was no content at all like no dungeons and no RBG so i stay in hellfire almost everyday killing low levels and absolutly every single time it end up into level 90 group PVP.

you manage to kill lvl 70? solo? awesome! I should have taken ss. warr 13k and we are 4 man lvl 63 or 64 dead stadning and w8in for him to leave. just got attacked by hunt lovely 2 levels higher we fought i died. another horde came to do the quest in same spot, hunter isnt attacking anymore. its big balls when you are stronger, small when you are outnumbered.

Great to know that in a server centered around you people doing PvE would be safe.
Too bad that concept and the ego-centrism involved in assuming you make a difference on the big picture would require words much more colorful than "asinine" to describe.

Any logic is ridiculous when you jump into a pages-long discussion, take one comment out of the whole that has been discussed, and give yourself an automatic genius medal. But I guess you'd need to understand what "discussion" means before anything else anyways.
