1. How in the world did this private server get so popular??

Everywhere I look there are like 1000 people online max on these other servers, you come here, 10,000+ on 1 realm?

How the hell did this happen, did this server come out right as WoD hit its peak of destruction?

What do you guys think cause this blows my mind.

  2. Maybe you're from other server and want to manage how they did it?

Nah I just got banned from retail and started here like 3 days ago, level 15 going strong haha

  4. Well , its a "No bull**** , hardcore" server with best wow expansion ever , along with many perks , no OP donations , no votes , working pre-wotlk content for twink population . Many things ,superb changelogs, population on its own is what is attracting people , it started at 6k and slowly risen to 10k, i can expect only more and more.

  5. because its a blizzlike server even tho u cant use character features, no dungeon finder, custom respawn time and no to talk about the annoying messages about which guild is the first on realm to kill some boss

  6. Pack mentality.

Private server communities are smallish, we should all be in one place. Population is more important than scripting for a game like wow IMO.

  7. Excellent marketing, to start with. Molten did an amazing job putting itself out there back in the day. You eventually get to a point where a large population becomes capable of sustaining itself. A playerbase this huge quickly becomes well known and attracts several others who are after a realm that feels as populated as actual Blizzard ones. Several WotLK-related queries on google also end up bringing you to Warmane because of the relatively vast forum activity that goes on here because of the size of the playerbase (I know at least that's what brought me here).

Still though, 10k players is staggering and probably far beyond anyone's expectations for the realm. It does certainly look like Lordaeron is headed in a great direction so far. Lordaeron's doing a successful job so far securing its place as a juggernaut in the private server scene.

  8. It has a lot to do with the fact that this private server and the staff that operate it have the legacy of multiple private servers behind it. That has a lot to do with the community as well which followed the staff and their 'community leaders' per se here.

We've been the largest private server for many years and here's to being that for many years to come!

  9. The biggest thing I noticed while spending my couple days here is what Dile said, I can't even find a donation page for example, I'm sure there is one but the fact that they don't blow it up in your face like some servers I see, that is an outstanding way to see these devs are not just here for the money.

  10. I found it randomly after having had a good experience on another BC server. Wanted to play an old school DK again, before they screwed up all the talent trees.

Did a search, found this was one of the few that didn't have a completely ridiculous cash shop enabled, had a decent pop and faction balance, so here I am. Brought the fiancee w/ me too.

    So far, so good.

  11. Many things make this server popular..

    what bring me here is:
    - Best wow content ever made by blizzard
    - A world with people in it (No garrison, no LFG, etc)
    - No transmo (easy to see who perform well in Pve and in Pvp)
    - The reactivness of Warmane with cheaters.

P.s. If you get cought in the last ban wave for using bot, dont use it there or you not gonna last a week. I left retail specialy to not play agaisnt cheater half of the time and i'm not the only one. We want this server clean !

Well thank god there was all those things like donations and vote points or you wouldn't have a server to play on, still want to know how this server is going to fund it self, I can't see many people donating for lower gear I hope I'm wrong.

  13. The most important thing for a private WoW server is easily population. It's like not even an argument for it. People are looking for popular servers because popular servers attract people. Popular servers are popular because they are popular.
Still, to become a popular server, it must take itself seriously first and foremost and it's no coincidence that a serious server with dedicated staff and population is going to be blizzlike, or as blizzlike as you can get. "Fun" servers are simply not fun and they lose their gimmick real fast. It's also no coincidence that there's a bug power gap between Lordaeron which goes beyond blizzlike with 1x rates and no RDF to boot, and the other realms that are 10x or whatever. I really tried to play on a higher rates realm but it's just not comparable in terms of population, since slow leveling basically filters a lot of undesirables I believe.

  14. I've been in Molten/Warmane for a very long time. I followed Kaer when he left "that" other server and founded Molten.
"That" server was so full of custom overpower items. Then came Molten, "Kickin' Nass and Takin' Manes" 😎😂

  15. Well thank god there was all those things like donations and vote points or you wouldn't have a server to play on, still want to know how this server is going to fund it self, I can't see many people donating for lower gear I hope I'm wrong.
There's still mounts and other things. Lordaeron certainly has the benefit of numbers on its side.

Also, Warmane runs more than 1 server. I'm not positive, but I wouldn't imagine that they have a system in place where each server has to fund itself.
