something you can try if you're having wrist troubles while keybinding is binding on the right side of the keyboard. this is a binding strategy i learned playing starcraft, and i've noticed that you'll hardly be moving your wrist at all since your thumb will be hitting the modifiers (alt, shift, and ctrl) instead of your pinky having to stretch down. this not only will reduce stress on your wrist and maybe avoid the issue of it locking up as you said, but also for players who use a more standard setup on the left side of the keyboard, it will actually keep you from tiring out after playing many games. if you're interested, you can look up thecore keybinding strategy to get an idea of what it will look like (granted, thecore is a keybind setup for starcraft so you won't need to pay attention to all the details, but you can get the general idea).
As one of the most well known clickers I can tell you this:
Keybinds will allow for greater speed, but without the skill and knowledge of how to play a class right it means nothing. I'd agree the a skilled PvP player who uses binds will in most cases beat a skilled clicker player, but a skilled clicker can quite easy beat an unskilled bind player.
But many people foolishly carry this idea over to other parts of the game. For example PvE tanking, binds don't really mean anything as speed is not an issue. Being aware of whats going on, and being ready to use one of many different moves; as a good tank should be aware of what the entire group are doing and be ready to cover any mistakes made by anyone.
Because a good tank is not only keeping agro and holding the boss in position, but also ready to change play style in an instant should someone balls up, having a rigid set of moves can be unhelpful.
Some people will always moan about clickers because of the PvP mentality, but the truth is being a clicker doesn't affect PvE in the way it effects PvP, and in PvE it effects some classes more than others.
But still, play the game how you want to and chances are you'll develop your own style (like my weird hybrid style of clicking the side bar and using the numbered hot keys). So long as you enjoy how you play, don't worry to much about what others say.
It's precisely because you have to often make critical split-second decisions as a tank that you're needed to be able to hit your key-binds quicker. Hitting a defensive CD or a Taunt even a few milliseconds late can be devastating for the entire group. This isn't to say you couldn't get by with clicking, but you undeniably are putting your raid at greater risk of a wipe because you don't want to go through the bother of setting up additional keybinds and committing them to muscle memory. In high-end raiding this practice is extremely unfeasible, and the same is true to a lesser degree of even casual raiding.
I would suggest goin a rdps class where the placement of your character in the room is more important then anything, since if its good enough you dont have to move that much (or anything at all for some bosses).
But like DarkenedHue mentioned above, roles like tanking or even healing where you have to make very quick decision sometimes would be devestating for the raid, that is unless you use healbot and bind your heals on mouse buttons just like Tusson mentioned above aswell.

There are addons to make clicking more viable by putting the action bars in the middle of the screen.
I remeber some famous classic pvp hunter called "Zibba" who was using such a interface to click faster.

not to be a jerk but this really shouldent even be a topic for debate.
clicking is just plain slower and offers a lot more issues with you being able to perform well.
keybinding will always be faster and better for any situation at any time.
there is no such thing as a "pro" clicker
end of debate.

Thing is if you read his posts, he cannot key binds or even move his left hand slightly because hes injured, still tho I think too that buttons like EQRF and even 123 should be manageable easely without moving your left hand.
And yes you're right about key binding everything and then practise you'r muscle memmory will make you much faster in every aspect.
Funny that u say that because "Zibba" used to be a "pro" clicker back in vanilla.
Rubbish, I completed the entire game TBC->Cata using Hybrid style. The spectrum of difference between different players is huge.
Plus people need to forget about this out dated clicker or binder idea. There are far more different ways to play that still get branded as clicker but are far different to just using the mouse to click on icons.
I can’t figure out how to start a “helpful” post. There’s no way to do this without sounding pretentious. I don’t mean to be.
But I am.
Right now is the perfect time to break some old bad WoW habits.
The next char you start, promise yourself you’re going to make an honest attempt to improve your game.
1. Unbind your A, S, and D. Get used to it. It gives you a faster reaction time, frees up some handy keys to bind to abilities. E, S, F, and your mouse are your new best friend. It’s not as scary as you want it to be.
2. Bind “like” abilities to the same keys on every character. I am not one of those players who bind every single ability I have. Or am I? Also bind your “Oh zhit” abilities to your mouse buttons or other super quick reaction key.
3. Don’t overload your abilities. Don’t go and bind every ability you own to your keyboard, hide your bars, and then try and be OP Elite and zhit. You’re not Healsonheels. Instead, bind a couple of keys at a time. Start with your normal rotation, then add new abilities slowly as you get more and more comfortable. When you’re sitting in Trade District waiting for your queue to pop go over and pound a training dummy for a bit.
4. Play accordingly to the situation. Rotations you use while questing aren’t always the best to use at this or that situation... Anyways, if you start using keybinds or if you change your keybinds you will suck for 1 month but after you learn them it will be so much better...
I’m uncomfortable trying to be helpful. I come from a long line of people who say “oh for Christ’s sake just let me do it myself!” and shove people out of the way.

That can work. If that's way to uncomfortable, what I usually do is rebind A to strafe left (default Q) and D to strafe right (default E), same effect really. And use Q and E for something else.
Personally I use a smaller keyboard to easily reach half of the keys. I have asdwqe default bound (so I can keyboard turn and strife like a ****** in the bank or play one-handed once in a while), but point being I can easily reach enough keys to play everything without issues. If you want to argue that clicking isn't significantly slower then at least now everyone knows what kind of player you are. I don't care what your achievements are, they only prove that someone else could carry you.
As for the OP, congratulations on a legitimate reason to click. Yes it will delay your reaction time, but maybe there's a work-around. Can you get away with rapid movement in your mouse hand? If so then look into a mouse with more buttons.
+1
I am also a clicker, and although I know for a fact that keybinding abilities can increase player performance, I feel like I do just fine with clicking.
I can click a spell, and have my mouse over the next spell I need before the global cooldown is done. Then again, I've been playing World of Warcraft like this for about 10 years.
I do have like 2 keybinds on R and F for important spells, like Blink for my mage, or Charge for my warrior.
But just play however you feel comfortable. The game is about enjoyment at the end of the day.
