1. stigma of clicking?

So the other day on the wrath realm deathwing I was doing a reg rdf to get my 2 truimphs like I always do after im done farming on my 80 pally who's still in blues in the middle of the instance I lost aggro on a mob or 2 this rouge asked if I was a clicker and I said yes so he starts wisping me abusively so I left and told him to tank it since he's better then me I can't bind seeing my wrist locks up when I do.so Why are pepple are hpstile tpward clickers?

  2. cause yall have nasty reaction times and move funny...
if it works for you by all means go ahead, but you should first atleast try binding a couple of your spells. may i suggest binds such as Q,E,R,2 for your most commonly spammed spells (hemo, evisc or whatever i hate rogues) and then theres your middle mouse that has a spectacular amout of 3 binds thats right fam, you can bind the click, scroll up and scroll down for quick cc spells such as kidney shot, kick and blind or somethhing.
people who click spells die more often and rage more and that can result in heart disease dont do this to yourself...you are too young...the future is still bright if you just adapt, evolve and donate to charity every once in a while

  3. Im a pally and my middle mpuse button is my taunt I can't bind unless u want my wrist to lock up and I don't play pure classes anyways I stick tp support classes that can do more than just damage

  4. what does that even mean, if you can move with W A S D you can hit Q R T lmao...
also there are two more binds on that middle mouse or your wrist locks up while scrolling it up and down aswell?

  5. You can just bind keys around w,s,a,d. You dont even have to move your wrist to press those buttons. Q,,e,r,t,f,g,1,2,3,4 are easy to reach and you can just bind Shift-q,e,r,t,f,g,1,2,3,4 if its needed.

  6. No rapid movement on my left hand will lock up my wrist

    I

I can try a pittle bit pf it

  8. well sir since you have a legit question i will try to answer this for you.

clicking is a slower reaction time than a keybound spell/ability.

when someone has to look for a spell to click or move their mouse pointer to a action it slows down that players reaction time by forcing them to take their eyes off what is going on in a fight. even for a split second can be devastating. now people can argue about trinkets and cooldowns being clicked (although not really bc its just as bad to click those) but either way it slows your reaction time to what is going on in game when you are not looking at your positioning or what is going on in the encounter.

good example would be Heroic Lich King with shadow traps. if you are busy clicking your spells and not watching for the trap flying out even a little delay here can cause you to be killed.

i want to focus on Neeckos comment about moving funny.

what he means is there are time where you have to manually point yourself in the right direction using the mouse and not your aswdqe keys. if you have to use a mouse to position yourself correctly that takes away from your ability to dps. You cant move with the mouse while clicking on a spell.

if you want to click thats fine. but if you think you are going to have the best dps or reaction time compared to someone who is fully keybound (assuming you both have the same brain power as well as gear) then that keybound person will outperform you every single time without question.

keybinding takes time to get used to its not an overnight transition. your fingers have to become accustom to hitting spells without looking at them and muscle memory comes into play here as well. when ever i have bought a new mouse or got a new keyboard or even rebound something to another key i try to run rdfs and unimportant raids to practice with getting used to the new set up.

  9. Who knows. I got Light of Dawn while clicking and one of the best players I know, who farms HC Deathwing multiple times a week is a clicker.

well no offense here but. we have had clickers in our guild get LoD as well. its not like they cant be carried week after week month after month. does not make them pro or good though, at all.

  11. theres your stigma tho, you say youre playing rather normally and your friend has LoD as a clicker yet you know your gameplay is inferior due to slower reaction times and what not or you wouldnt ask this in the first place.
i still think you can move your index finger to hit E,R, your middle finger to hit (atleast) 2, and your ring finger to hit that Q without much wrist problems, but i dont know many things and, as i said, if clicking works for you go ahead.

  12. alt, ctrl and shift modifiers on every key around WASD should be enough to keybind everything you need, and if you need more. Your mouse can scroll up, scroll down, middle mouse button click, just the mouse gives you a total of 9 different keybinds with modifiers.

  13. play how you want, anyone complains about it tell them to go !@#$ themselves.

This. Play however you are comfortable. Switch it up and try keybindings when you feel clicking is limiting your performance. To learn my keybinds, I just played BG after BG with my button GUI interface disabled so I was forced to use keybinds.

  15. The stigma stems from the fact that clicking is significantly slower than using key binds or macros. This is especially the case in PVP where trying to click from one spell to another whilst trying to move, rotate your camera, target people, etc, is virtually impossible. The mouse cannot be used rapidly for queuing skills, along with its various other purposes. To each their own, however, clicking simply puts you behind and lowers your ability to react to things such as losing aggro or staying on a target while pumping out a rotation.

If you have wrist problems, be it carpel tunnel, or other carpel bone/ligament damage, have you tried something like a brace or taping to solve the root of the issue? Often the lateral deviations in keyboard use can irritate the wrist. Using carpel compression (such as a simple wrap or taping) can help ease said irritation. This can help with damaged ligaments etc as well. If it is something more serious, a proper brace can help ease some symptoms. Actual ‘locking up’ could be from something like ‘trigger finger’ (sheath issues) and would require something different than merely bracing. I personally find wrist wraps cut down significantly on irritation in the wrists though and pretty much can’t use a mouse without them now.

If the latter is the case and your right hand is the only one usable, have you considered something like a MMO gaming mouse? Personally I despise having 30 buttons on the side of my mouse, but I know some people who love them (mainly those who struggle using their keyboards for their requisite macros and binds).

Here is an example of an MMO gaming mouse. There are many on the market besides this, but I haven’t done too much research into them. Personally I use my keyboard with many control and alt modifiers as well as the 18 programmable g keys at the side of my keyboard, but this is the same concept for the mouse. In sum, WoW is virtually impossible to play well without being able to queue your skills with a method other than clicking. It ‘is’ doable without, however it is far from optimal to use another method.
