This account needs to be converted to a battle.net account, there are no stickys or guides for connecting to frostwolf and I've been working on trying to log on for almost 2 hours. Anyone know what the problem is? thanks.

then be sure you are using 5.4.2 client.
Frostwolf is baded on 5.4.2 but will be updated to 5.4.8 on 26 january

Yes, I am using the 5.4.2 client. Also sometimes it would work and I'd be stuck at creating character or retrieving character list.

then be sure to use the correct realmis:
set realmlist logon.warmane.com
And to log-in by using your Warmane AccountName, not email address

I've got the same problem and it doesn't retrieve characters even if you reload the client.
