Change 5.4.2 exe to 5.4.8 here and good to go!

this **** makes no sense... I clicked the link and downloaded a 5.4.8 rar file put it in mop folder and did everything you said and I cant log into game.. please if you are going to make a guide of how to do something make it right... now tell everyone how to actually do it

I have the problem that i can't deactivate the guild invite block setting so i can't join any guild since the update. Deleating the WTF don't work here.

It has worked for thousands of people, the percentage of success is high enough to conclude the guide is right enough.
Now, what is your issue?

You do not need 5.4.2. You can use this files from an empty directory and the game with be downloaded as you play.

do you think the bug is because of your client? Then forget for a moment about your 5.4.8 and:
go here https://www.warmane.com/download get "MoP minimal" ( it is only 16 MB) try to play with this new 5.4.8 client for a moment and see if you can get invited

Now its not only my client. My Brother logged in with my account and try to deacivate the option. He has the same problem. I think the setting ist syncronised with the server and cant be updated there. idk. I tried it with my english an my german wow client.

Make sure your firewall / antivirus is not blocking the connection.

Hey, guys ive been having a problem this morning when i log into my account it says CONNECTED and stays there for ever and does not load my char screen.
Whats the problem thats causing this ****?

Logon is currently under a ddos attack, we are working to mitigate the effects, some players may experience connectivity issues.

Wherever you want that it is not a read-only folder. Documents / Desktop / Downloads should be fine.
