I started to play diablo 2 in 2002. Last played it in 2015.
Diablo 2 and Starcraft 1 best games ever made, both are RIP when it comes to online now though. There's a diablo 2 private server on reddit that is pretty tight but doesn't compare to bnet back in 1.10/1.11 before everyone and their dog had a bot

I miss bnet WC3 the most. When the lobby bots started becoming popular, my brother and I figured out how to host a bot. Have the bot host a game and two of our friends that didn't have CD keys would connect to the bot's game via LAN and we would have the bot host a game on bnet.

He's actually quite easy, did you mess up on his mechanics by any chance? I only killed him on Merciless today so I can't comment on his abilities for Normal mode, since the mechanics change every day. But he carries over abilities from previews phases, if you don't do certain things. As an example, Merciless for today was: Phase 1: Elemental damage statues, make sure none are alive when he moves to phase 2, Phase 2: 3 boxes which gives him the ability to single, dual and tripple curse, killing those before killing him makes him lose them for phase 3, Phase 3: trap room (heard this one is always the same, can confirm since it's been the same on all difficulties).
The other option is that you don't have enough life or resist cap, which is nothing a bit of leveling can't fix.
Did you meet the side boss by any chance? Some huge gargoyle/bull/w.e the **** he is, he's a big ***** till he enrages. But damn once he enrages.... he 3 shot me while enraged, while having 4k life in Cruel + having my 20% phys reduction flask poped, the guy just doesn't give a ****.
Battle.net for wc3 was the most fun time I've ever had while gaming. Are you a lucker, Warlock, ele TD and of course Dota are only a few of the amazing maps that bnet had. I always trolled people by hosting those jump scare maps, the rage was real.Edited: March 7, 2016

Your HP is pretty low, with pretty dumpster resistances, that explains why he managed to one shot you. If you level up a little more for some extra life nodes and cap your resists, it should be a walk in the park the next time you give it a go. As a warning, his abilities change on a daily basis and the difficulties also don't share the same lab each day, so I'm not really sure what he was doing on normal today. I'm gonna suspect you saw some female statues with swords raised up in the air? Since that would explain the one shot.
Small thing on the side, Added Lightning is really not good to have in herald of thunder nor Lightning Wrap (imagine LW like shadowstep in WoW, it's a movement skill which has a damage portion added just convenience, it IS a really good movement skill with faster casting and reduced duration tho), it really bumps up the % reservation of the herald and doesnt really do anything for it in return. Also try running Lightning Penetration + Reduced Duration for your stormcall 3 link (echo as a 4th link when you get it). That should boost your dmg by a lot.

Try to sleep like a normal person and fail again.

I dont need mana pots. Dat mana regen passives + clarity, even with 26 Mana not resereved I can spam 24 mana Storm call as fast as I can spam right click.

Character tab is private, can't see it. If you try to get some easy 4links, just check the vendor after every level up he will switch up what he's selling when you ding. 4links are fairly common, shouldn't take too long. I would also recommend a good loot filter which highlights 4 links while leveling, if you don't run one already.
On a different note, PoE is damn awesome when all your guild mates come back to play the game. But never forget your fallen guild mates, RIP Haley and Cryo (2nd shall not be missed).

I always loved Dota, Legion TD, battle ships, Pyramid Escape, kodo tag and there were a lot of fun RPGs that were surprisingly pretty big.
