I dont see why we cant change Warsong into a PvP 4.0.6 Realm.
Everyone knows it was one of the better PvP seasons, we had balance, we had activity. Even with PvE items to how limited they were used, it was still balanced.. Dragon Soul ruined cataclysm, it's my favourite expansion but this was just the biggest disappointment in wow history (I've played MOP and WOD, so I have some good comparisons on the scale of bad).
And by 4.0.6, I mean fully working MMR system, rated BG system, wargames, etc. Maybe based of the old 4.0 AT Core.

Taking into account live, the server really comes no where close to duplicating a live experience per say.
I personally prefer 4.3.4 over the other cata patches (s10 was fun though).
We would have the same problems on 4.0.6 - warriors one shotting, rshams being completely invincible due to 2 x 2set resi etc.
Dragonsoul isn't the issue at all, more the fact that PVE items should never have had any place in PVP, especially proc items (vial, no kaled, cunning, windward).
S10 was the same - legendary, lightning cap etc.
S9 - I can't remember but think there was some pve trinket that was insane for strengthies.
They need to remove procs from PVE items in arena - axes, cunning, blf etc.
Fixes need to be made to streamline classes to how they were on live before we can judge how balanced the patch is.
The current server doesn't even duplicate 4.3.4 (the spells are there, but scalings are completely wrong, or so it feels). i.e hunter, dk (pet damage is hilarious), enhance as the worst of these.
If they want to increase activity on the server, they need to make people want to queue in 3s.
You may be able to achieve this by some of the following
Introducing achievements for titles (challenger, rival, duelist etc) and make them seasonal.
No titles from 2s.
Discounts on coin items depending on your activity during the season in 3s.
Mount rewards (rare mounts only available from 3s)
Introduce rating decay in 3s.
etc

This however was was not a game breaking thing that even comes close to the likes of Cunning, VOS etc.
Just as there was HOR for Strengthies there was, Malevolence for Ferals, Theralion's Mirror for Frost Mages/Ele Shamans, Crushing Weight for UHDKs.
YET... it was still balanced, didnt matter if you had one of these or not, it didnt carry you.

Wasn't Unheeded Warning kinda broken for Agi classes, especially for Ferals? Maybe i'm wrong, but i remember that trinket being stupidly overpowered (it used to increase weapon damage by 600+ iirc) to the point that Blizzard decided to completely change it's effect during 4.1 or 4.2 (now i think it just increases your Crit Chance). Personally i have bad memories of 4.3.4 specifically Ferals in every comp, Rip used to deal 12k+ per tick and Rake was aroud 10k+ both crits ofc (basically 2/10 total health every 3s if both DoTs crit).
4.0.6 had much more to offer for both pvp and pve players. thats why we had 4 servers with 4k ppl online mostly all of the time.
pvp AND pve was better. warmane always says they dont go backwards, but im pretty sure that if you give some coins back and some free 85 chars again 4.0.6 will be more active than 4.3.4 in no time
Only worked good for classes based on auto attack damage, so it was BIS for Enhancement Shaman and that was about it thanks to Windfury.
Better solution is to remove titles from 2s, stop resetting mmr every season and maybe disable tripe dps since you cannot play this comp in any reasonable tournament (same goes for double healer and class stacking).
Ps. As for pve items only BLF for rogues is broken as hell. Any other item isn't going to change that much if you know how to play.
If there was a mutual rule that no one wore ANY pve gear in arena then 3's would be active,fact. The sheer amount of people who don't want to queue vs coined up toons is the highest problem.
Pvp players don't mind getting outplayed, it's part of learning. But getting "outplayed" with coinshop procs makes you stop queuing real fast.

Hitler Cleave (UHDK/UHDK/Hpala)
HPotter Cleave (Mage/Mage/Healer)
Angel Cleave (Ret/Shadow/Disc)
I thought hitler cleave was a RBG comp with 7 boomkins and 3 unholy dks
To be honest none of this comps are played or even capable of doing something outside of being annoying. I was referring to dobule shaman teams that are most likely going to destroy any caster team. Especially warlocks.
Just because a "comp isnt played" doesn't meant that it is not a legitimate comp. People here on Warmane play with one of two thing, FOTM comps which require less skill, or comps that rely heavily on donation items (Enhancement Shamans were low af on representation in S11)
Also "even capable"... I got to 2.1k (pre-moltdown) messing around with my mate running Stalincleave just kicks..... Just because ya'll used to being carried by PvE gear doesn't mean that skill can't get you anywhere. #WarmanePlayers
Skill is the biggest factor without doubt and stacking class comps are lacking it for sure. Don't tell me that tunneling brainlessly one target with Dk's is somehow skillful. Carried by pve items ? I guess you refer to BLF since other pve items are barely a problem. There is a reason that stacking is forbidden in tournaments.
