Problem is not population imbalance, it can be 50% Ally and 50% Horde, problem is that not everyone does PvP. Too many people focus on PvE and too many people just log to stand AFK in Dalaran to show off their amazing Characters. Sadly this can't be helped, I mean, if they log to stay AFK, what can staff do? Anyway yes, Alliance BG queue on Deathwing is horrible, it really puts someone off queueing. It ain't normal, we always need to wait more than 10 minutes (not to mention that sometimes we have to wait about half an hour to enter always the same freaking Alterac Valley). Seriously it's so annoying. Though I can't think of any solution to this, perhaps free faction change will do, I don't know honestly but this situation is just unbearable for Alliance PvP players.
So basicly if the que doesnt fix with the merge, i would like to play same as on Blackrock, mixed horde/ally players in battleground, we will get insta ques and sure it will be fun to do so.
If you are alliance and all you do is BGs whenever you are on, you are asking for boredom. Find something else to do in the meantime. A while ago, when attempting to queue AV Enabler on alliance side, I would raid orgrimmar with the AV Enabler raid at the same time while waiting for the bg to pop.
As a matter of fact the long queues were advantageous in that regard - it gave you a nice buffer time to do world PvP and it would likely pop before you were hanging around there for TOO long. (inb4 3:1 defence raid comes to one-shot you).
It feels to me the new core is the real problem here, I remember clearly playing the day before it the queues were as usual for ally 3-5min solo 10min premade witch is pretty decent IMO, and then the instant the new core dropped it became 20-30 mins, so yeah the queue system must be different on the new/old core.
Edit: and the trend continues on the new realm - huge population and only 3 max 4 bgs running at time, it just feels like server doesn't open enough and its 80% avs as we know.
Yes, this queue system allows 1 player per opposing player in the battleground, while the old system allowed a full team fill regardess of the opposing team.
Ye nice start a bg 10vs3....
1->1->1->1->1->1->1->1 this is the only best way to keep the perfect balance in bgs.
No, it didnt. The old queue system balanced also the horde and alliance ratio.
If u have seen unbalanced bgs then it was because a premade queue and didnt join the battle.
Dude, i have done plenty of bgs during the last months. Also as premade with AV enabler.
The bg system on the old core definitely balanced the number of horde and alliance in a bg. When there wasnt enough opponents in the bg, ppl of our premade had to wait in queue and with every new opponent that entered the battle, one player of our premade was also able to join the battle.
Unbalanced numbers appeared if either many ppl of one side left the battle or when a big premade queue with av enabler and triggered a new bg but didnt enter it.
If for example a 15 man horde premade queue with av enabler and triggers warsong, only 10 ppl can enter so the premade leaves the queue to avoid that they get split. Now we have a situation where 10 hordys were able to enter so the bg system allows also 10 allys to enter WSG. In this case 10 allys fight against zero hordys.
The reason why u dont see such unbalanced BGs on the new core is because there are currently no big horde BG premades.
AV enabler doesnt work these days because the bg number is bugged and premades get split in different BGs. https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/20438
So right now there are no big horde BG premades and no empty BGs that they could have triggered.

This means nothing actually. If someone queues for a BG, it is because he wants or he needs to farm Honor or HKs, they don't join to do other stuff while waiting for the BG to pop honestly. Of course one has to do something else meanwhile, waiting 30 minutes for a queue seriously, I could do so many things with half an hour. So yeah BG queue purpose is not like "Queue up and wait 30 minutes so you can do other stuff".
How does this mean nothing? You're acting like the queue should be shorter and that there's something you can do about it to make it shorter. You can't.
You would have to hope that there is a dramatic change in the proportion of Alliance to Horde PvPers which we all know will not happen. Most people just wait for the BGs to pop, sit around and whine in the process while alt-tabbing, leading to one potentially missing the pop. I know this because I've been in those situations and I've run a tremendous amount of premades.
Having an attitude that does not accept the way things are is simply irrational in this case because BG queue times will not change.
However, if you accept the way things are but still want to vocalize the issue that you know cannot be resolved then all you're really doing is wasting time and energy by typing on that keyboard, bringing attention to an issue that does not warrant it.
P.S. I didn't even mention the fact that there are Wintergrasp quests which go towards items that can be used in PvP.

Btw, do the Specific BG Quees work ?
i've been in que for Warsong like for 2 hrs while there were a few Warsongs going on
Nope, they don't. Vote it up here pls https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/20444
No, no it is a population problem, the ratio to Alliance to Horde is pretty ridiculous.
Horde queues are quite instant, honestly, and only to be GY camped by BiS s'mourners, but I digress.
You want a solution? Start saving your points and get a faction change.
