It doesn't make sense. Remove the limit and let people decide their own price of their effort instead of forcing in their face.
I don't know the situation about other realms, but prices on Frostwolf MOP are a joke. My ilevel 505 shaman minimal price is 250$/coins? I'd sell it for 95% less but I can't. I am sure everyone agrees with me, and this realm is already dying, why not do something little to encourage more people coming in here by purchasing characters with a cheap price? You'd actually earn more $ this way as well and have more players which the realm is surely lacking.

the reason it is because the "Coins Store" would not make sense anymore.
Example: why should I buy all pieces of max pvp gear at marketplace and spending 200+ Coins if someone is selling a character with the same gear for 40 Coins at "Character Trade" ?

Less amount of people would invest 200$ into a private server, more would invest 40$ or less (like myself and my friends), perhaps even multiple times. In the end, you get more people donating resulting in more overall $ than you'd have from few rich individuals paying 200$ from time to time.
