Global has WAY too much stuff in it. Guild recruitment spams should be done in another channel as well as trade chat things. It makes it close to impossible to see what's going on as far as pug raiding development goes. I suggest we utilize the other channels for what they were mentioned for and leave global to be the pug raid development area. People will need to join these other channels of course, but the spam is like eye rape it's so fast.

This is my point exactly. It's we the people who have to change it. 3 people posting on this thread isn't enough when the server is at 10k. I love the new population don't get me wrong, but there has to be some sort of organization to it. We can't just have 10k people blasting only one channel for everything from gold begging to 25 heroic pugs. Trade chat and guild recruitment channels are mentioned to ease the flood of global. Other such channels can as well. It's super annoying when I'm dub clicking a 10 man raid LFM macro only to get out flooded and chat locked when I'm just trying to get my 10 man naxx going. We need people to understand the issues and utilize the means they have available to fix those issues or everyone will be stuck getting out spammed by 9,999 other people. I really hope that more people read this and take the time to /join trade (or w/e other channels. I now use trade chat to search for trade goods or sell my own trade services. This is only new to this community. In retail these were pre existing things that people knew and used. We need to get back to that. The sooner the better!

Trade chat is only visible in cities. And on retail recruitment for raids and guilds is currently mostly done on trade chat also. There is also general chat but that's for the zone you are in. On retail trade chat is what reaches the most people so that's what people use there. Here we have global chat, which reaches people in all zones. That's why people choose to use exactly that for everything, no other chat channel can reach as much people who might be interested in what someone might want to write there.
Global chat here is way more active than trade chat on retail. I would say that it's mostly unusable without an addon to filter all the spam. But it will remain the most active chat channel for everything unless more such channels that are accessible from any zone are created for specific types of messages.

Then that's where we should focus our push. I can make a channel by simply typing /join xxxx. This could be a global broadcasting channel for anyone who is in said channel. The power to ease global chat is in our hands. With enough people onboard we can spread/create other avenues to get our messages to the masses. We just need the people to rise up and end this spam!

The same problem has persisted on Lordaeron since day 1. Warmane staff won't do anything about it simply because any attempts to organize various global chats has always failed. Everyone just wants to use global because everyone uses global. It's ****ed, but w/e.
What I do is right click the channel name (party, global, general, etc.) and click the "move to separate window" option. Global is still spinning fast but at least my party chat/whispers/general/loot chat doesn't get caught up in the mix. Also as someone else had said, there are addons/programs that will severally reduce the amount of spam and even automatically ignore players who use certain key words like "****" or "thunderdick blesseddick of dickseekers" etc.

Moving to new windows was a much do thing before unless you hate being able to read guild/raid chat. I agree they do it cause everyone does it part, but just because it's broken doesn't mean we can't fix it.

If Warmane makes official channels people would use them. If you try to make the channel people won't use it since noone else uses it. They want as many people as possible to see their messages and setting up your own channel to compete with global won't work. For it to work Warmane would have to create and advertise those channels.

Most of the spam is from people recruiting for guilds, I ignored all of them and global wasn't too bad. It would be nice if Warmane would make a custom guild recruitment channel that everybody can see instead of just people in main cities.

we had a looking for group channel before that got shut down for some reason. the reason we cant quite make a new channel for people to go on is because unless its constantly being advertised like global, no one will know it exist. thats why its better for the staff to do it so it can be implemented better than a player based one and be able to keep being useful instead of deleted or run by *****s. even a seperate channel for groups or guilds would be immensely helpful.

In my opinion guild spammers and trade spammers have to get chat block for 30min-1h every time they are caught in global. Because all they do - is just flooding.
For buying characters - you have very comfortable character trade auction.
For buying/selling boes - you have ingame auction house.
For recruiting - you have forum and respective forum sections.
