Gear gone, any explanation?

I'm back after a 8 month break and first thing I found is that most of my pvp gear is gone. And no, it's not in the bank. Wouldn't be suspicious if a guy had not told me that his hc gurthalak randomly disapeared too

What is going on?

Bug with Equipment sets.
Only gear which you donated you can obtain back by making ticket and noting that it dissapeared cuz of equipment set bug so they can know to not respond you with "Item X is intact within account. Please look better." etc, and tell them to remove it and replace with new one

Only donators get player support and only for stuff they used bought coins on, so, if you got anything with "gifted" coins, they wont help you

Well account must indeed be premium, but it doesn't matter from what source coins are.

As far as I understand, if you don't have any bag slots free and you change gear via equipment manager, it disappears after you log back.

Actually, from my experience if your bags are full the item will be in your mailbox for the next 30 days and after that they're deleted. Propably this is what has happened for Amaterasu since he wasn't logging in during the 8 month break.

No, it happens randomly

Some time ago, while i was playing Cata, i went to Dalaran using the ring (ya know, the one that TPs you to Dalaran), i equipped it manually, used the TP, everything k ~ but when i right clicked my Signet of Suturing (heroic, btw) it just dissapeared, like when you click on a potion, without even unequipping the Kirin Thor ring, and may i say, there was at least 40 free slots on my inventory

Well, when the previous happened and i tried endlessly to get some player support, i was told that gifted coins and/or non-premium accounts, basically can "suck a D"
