Hey was quite good and healed. And somehow managed to stay alive a lot longer than he should have most times. Quite the exception to the norm.
So if I just stay stealth 24/7 I'm fine. Alright mate.
In my point of view I contributed way more than some full geared players in the BGs that I played :D
Can I ask for the IGN of your main? =)
My account name is the exact same as my main in game. It is like that so everyone can find me. If im not logged in on my priest 2 ways to find me:
Look for Chriswebber or Sadaminsane
/who desert defenders
I heal in BGs with about 4.1k gs currently and I get a crapton of hate from people...
Thank you, I had to check something :p
I have now 4.7k GS and I find it funny after getting bashed for my gear I was the only one able to cap 3 flags in one warsong I played. Just let them talk, gear is the only thing they have.

At 4.7 I would fully expect you to be able to compete. I'm happy to hear you had a solid match. On a similar note remember earlier when I was saying furious gear, well I saw a 5k arms warrior in a AV yesterday wearing mostly furious main set with one relentless farming honor for those wrathful off parts. Kudos to him. He gets what I'm saying and has some self pride. Not everyone needs to be 5k before rolling into a battleground it is an example of a individual who was gearing up without being useless. I hope to see more of these players in the future.
I've never been in one realm where the gear was so important. Besides gear what do you have to offer to your group? :D
Gear has always been important in the game. All the way back to day one people with better gear have been able to do (most times) higher output of damage or heals. That has never changed. As far as you question goes I don't make premise groups. I use to in 60 cap when I was grinding rankings up to rank 12. I do at times run with a group of friends I enjoy playing with. If your asking me about what I can bring to a battle ground? I bring quite a few years of PvP experience mostly from 60 cap era. I'm not the best, but I do have some pretty good moments. Overall skill wise if that is what you are asking I would rank myself as above average. So say we scale 1-10 I would say I'm prolly around a 7. Is that what your asking?
The thing is, everyone that spends some times playing will get gear, but you can play for 10 years and still be a disaster.
Don't get me wrong but, where did you get that 7?
Obviously people can and still will be trashcan all stars no matter what gear they have. Not everyone at low gear is bad just the same as not everyone at high gear is good. It's always the little things you do that make you good. That clutch dispell of flame shock right before a lava burst. A ret pally seeing someone stuck in ooze chucking out a HoF. Even low gear players can do the little things. As far as where I got my 7 outta 10 from. Self assessment of course. I won't spend the time to crunch every single number. I won't roll my rotation into a one button macro and scroll my mouse wheel. I am simply aware of my area and what's going on in it (most of the time). Because I've played many different classes and the game for years I generally have a understanding on what people are going to do and what needs to be done to counter it. I've also sat there and chucked out huge dumbers not giving a damn about others in the raid. I speak from both sides of the fence. I do and will always bring my A game and I get extremely frustrated when I under perform based on my own standards and what I feel I should be capable of doing. For instance the other night in a guild raid i got one shot by blistering cold. I got pulled in from Africa because I ran out to blow up with unchained stacks. I was furious that I died. Self aware raid aware players who do the little things are always the best players.
