1. They had Vanilla servers, not Wrath of the Lich King. That alone already makes a direct comparison dubious if not outright void. And then there are the people who said they did in fact do what Kaer said is common in private servers, saying their servers felt emptier than ours. Either way, what you say is fallacious anyways - or are you able to do world-record level physical activities because someone else did it?
You misinterpreted my words. I said that in reference to the guy who said that you were faking numbers. What i meant is that if another private server can have a huge population so can Warmane.

Ah I see, my apologies then. Just much more used to people going "that place did this or that, so you do it too."

  3. Faking Numbers this old song eh? yeah they really faked the grand total of 2.5k pop during US times a few months back those dastardly fiends lol
Try take off the Tinfoil hats for like 5 mins please and thank you.

  4. As soon as i saw "/who" in the title of the topic i knew it was going to turn into the faking numbers topic xD

    I, as OP, did not . . .

I'll rephrase the original post: lower the cooldown on /who features to not make it overload server if used with addons, but still allow good mechanical use for human-made actions.

  6. isnt the cooldown only like 30 seconds ? not exactly what i'd call a big deal.

  7. 16 unless it got changed recently

  8. Imagine having a massive book with 1000 pages and 10 people around you.
Every second every one of them asks you to go to some page and look for a word, but after they've done it, they gotta wait.
Even that way it's annoying and much work, but if they didnt have to wait you'd go mad.

Now here we have 12k players and I myself shift-click on people names in global to check their guilds and where they are if they're selling something.
Removing the cooldown would cause a massive performance drop especially if you got something like Census+ or some other addons that rely on /who.
Removing the number of names it returns might be even worse since it'd go through all online players just to check their zone and level.

I'd rather have /who limited to 2 names and cd to be 10m than to have lag and DCs every minute.

  9. Its there for a good reason and it should stay like it is, with having no limitations on who, I think 12k players wouldn't be possible.
About the video with the guy checking the servers population with /who, its just stupid. One does not simply measure a realms population with that, there are players changing zones each second, not to mention raids, dungeons and battlegrounds, at least 30-50% of the population on the server plays pvp or pve at a given time and including those who change zone the video is plain bull****.

  10. Well if Nostalrius had 14k i don't see why Icecrown couldn't have the same.
Different dev team comes to mind ? lol

Anyways these limitations are ridiculous , I've never seen this on any server ever .

  11. They cant remove it beacuse all will see the REAL online members on server xd
