1. Remove the /who limitation

It's that simple. What it offers now? Nothing. What will it do if removed? It will allow to find players in your location faster, browse through classes faster and allow better communication for the low level players trying to achieve something. As there is no RDF available, allow us to look thoroughly at least there. Or tell us a good reason why /who is blocked in the way it is. Thank you.

  2. I'll +1 and support this. Would be great to see the limitation removed.

  3. Limitations are active for reasons. Server stability and performance reasons.

  4. Can you please be a little more open about this? Saying communism is good just because you think so is not the way to live this century, as we all know. Communication is gold.

  5. If there will be no limitation, server will have to try to gather the information for every single player on the realm, which will make server have to send a ton of requests and a lot of data. That will decrease server's performance.

  6. Most of the players don't get it, but why is the /who feature limited? I'll tell you why. There was a video with proof, about Warmane seriously faking the population, the video was made using /who, after 2-3 months, Warmane somehow decided to limit the /who feature. Making dumb excuses, covering the truth.

No, I won't delete it. I'll leave it as testament to what happens to people who spread that kind of lies and bull****. If you think we're "making dumb excuses, covering the truth," and because of a video players themselves have debunked, feel free to go away and not play in the servers maintained by us "liars."

I wish warmane ban botters with the same speed as u have banned that guy kek

  9. As far as I remember, when Kaer remade Molten into Warmane, he admitted in Q&A that the old Molten did actually manipulate the server population, but he also did say that it will not be the case on Warmane, the new server. I hardly can believe the Warmane is manipulating the numbers now, because just by looking at Dalaran, it is pretty clear they are not. You literally find players everywhere.

It might not be EXACTLY 12,000 players online. Of course, there will be some miscalculations and delays in calculations as all machines/algorithms make mistakes with huge numbers. All we need to know is that we have nearly 12,000 players playing, which is astonishing.

But I do agree.. Limitation on /who and chat can be very frustrating sometimes. Especially if you are using addon called WIM (Wow Instant Messenger, it automatically does /who whenever you get a whisper from somebody), it is very frustrating to see sometimes the player information section on the messenger is completely empty and bugged out because of this limitation. If it is directly related to server stability, I won't complain. I rather play on stable MS than not being able to come online at all.

P.S. EVEN if they are manipulating the number, I am glad they actually are, because many players look at the number of players and come to our server! Might be frustrating if you are a non-donor account though :/

Especially when advertising gypsy tries to spam people.

  11. ^ Yup.

I am glad they removed the limitation on emotes tho. I can spit on BGs everyday!

  12. Well if Nostalrius had 14k i don't see why Icecrown couldn't have the same.

What Kaer posted one time was brought up many times, and what he did say was that increasing the actual population was a common practice on private servers, and that if the guy he replied to (who was accusing us of faking numbers) wanted to, he could assume our population was a few thousands lower. People took that as an admittance that we did that, when to me it's simply Kaer saying "think whatever we want, we don't care about your accusations, we know the population we have and players can see that themselves in-game."

As far as I know, the /who command was disabled to lower the impact it has. It might seem like it's nothing, but consider how many people might be doing that query all the time out of 12000 players. It was in fact re-enabled for a long time when we got sick of that kind of "hurr durr disablud cuz fake numbuhs" crap, but as the cap kept getting further increased, Developers had to cut anything they could to improve the performance.

Well if Nostalrius had 14k i don't see why Icecrown couldn't have the same.
They had Vanilla servers, not Wrath of the Lich King. That alone already makes a direct comparison dubious if not outright void. And then there are the people who said they did in fact do what Kaer said is common in private servers, saying their servers felt emptier than ours. Either way, what you say is fallacious anyways - or are you able to do world-record level physical activities because someone else did it?

We all know the population counter on the website is not in real time, but, the guy that got banned because of what he said, wasn't disrespect or anything, he just said what he saw, many other people have doubts about it too, it's not fare at all, banning people for their opinions.

That's funny, coming from Critically's alt account.
