1. It's the same thing with professions and reputations.
If you really want to reduce the rates, make them x3 not x1. Some professions are a pain in the a*s and a lot of people (me included) don't play on these increased servers just to struggle with x1 rates. I played enough on other x1 servers and on molten lord. I don't want to repeat the experience of that slow and boring grinding.

So ... instead of x1 which you already know 99% of people don't want, you can make x3.

Also, some people said to add lotto and fun items for gold in marketplace. Why not this if you want to flush out gold ?

  3. Molten u noticed ppl get gear by farming gold ingame and selling it for coins and bying **** from marketplace. Less donations for server. Its got noting to do with Icecrown economy but molten-warmane economy.
How exactly is that resulting into less donations? You cannot conjure up coins out of thin air, you know

plot twist: people that 'buy' gold on website buy it with coins they donated for themselves + warmane takes a cut from the profits... I *think* you can't just magick yourself some coins.. well you could if you were to hack their database and alter some probably highly encrypted entries

  6. The problem with Warmane's method of going about it, is that NO ONE should EVER feel obligated to spend their hard earned gold. EVER... Period. Especially if they bought it with real money.

When I go out and buy a guitar, they don't tell me "Hey make sure you play it up by Jan 2017, because we're taking away half of the body of that guitar!"

When you purchase something, it becomes yours, forever. The only way it should ever disappear is if you give it away.

Sure, there is plenty of time to spend the gold. But no one should EVER have to feel like they need to spend their gold.

I opened a thread about it, but it got closed within 20 minutes because Warmane didn't like that I spoke the truth for thousands of players.

Again, no one should EVER feel obligated to spend their gold in game. EVER. Especially if they spent real money on it. And if Warmane takes away half of the gold people bought with real money, they had better be ready to pay those players back or face some hefty lawsuits.

When players bought this gold, there was never a warning saying "Hey, you better spend everything by Jan 1, because we're taking half of this away."

Plus, when Lordaeron came out, you only talked about this gold drain mechanic happening on Lordaeron. Now you've decided to cut the gold in half on EVERY server? Just pathetic.

If everyone doesn't see this for the thieving money grab it is, then they deserve to keep playing here, and keep getting ripped off.

One last time... NO ONE... SHOULD EVER... BE OBLIGATED... TO SPEND SOMETHING THEY SPENT REAL MONEY ON. PERIOD.

I'm not sure but I think what he meant to say was this:

Molten(Warmane) noticed that they are getting less donations from players who get their gear from the marketplace(donor shop) by farming gold then selling it for coins via website trade, instead of buying coins by donation. The benefits of the gold squish and lower rates are mainly for Warmane's income and not Icecrown's economy. Donating for gear>donating for gold. ----- Did I get it right, sovjak1?

Anyways, I agree with Allahkazam, make it 3x instead of x1. People who play in Icecrown play for faster progress.

Unfortunately, you are completely wrong. No matter how much real money you give Warmane, you own NOTHING..and they have the right to do whatever they darn well please. And there is NOTHING you can do about it.

yup, pretty much this... seems Mindkontrol didn't actually read and agree with the terms and conditions xD

  10. You obtained real gold from real players. We didn't inject that gold into the economy nor did we manufacture it. Also, we are not taking your gold away. We're just squishing it. Everyone is acting like we're individually taking it away from you and everyone else is running fine. No, we're splitting in half and everyone is affected by it. The value of your gold remains the same.

None of these changes have any effect on Warmane's services or the coin shop and none of these things were even in any discussion when these changes were made.

Furthermore, yes, if you obtained gold, it is a more than sufficient time to spend it and use it for whatever and even after you're not really losing it, we're just splitting the amount equally to everyone, everywhere.

The issue here is that the concern for most of the community is not the gold squish but the change of the several rates. Not recognizing the several consequences that those changes will cause just comes to show that the person that had this idea doesn't play the game and isn't aware of how things go in his own community.

I was referring to the comments before, specifically to the gold drain, you can see that I've replied to both subjects multiple times in the last 24 hours.

I've read multiple of your posts and some points are still untouched. However I'm not going to bring them up.

  14. might I suggest... something incredibly stupid... that you... wait for it...

SLOWLY lower the rates over a few months and take 20% of the gold each time they get chopped... for example:
    current: 5x rates ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> ending at 3 gold/wep and 1 rep/prof
    october 1st: 4x rates - 20% gold flush and gold dropped to 4.5x or 4x (100g = 80g)
    november 1st - 3x rates - 20% gold flush (36% effective gold flush) and gold dropped to 4x or 3.5x (100g = 80g, 80g = 64g)
    december 1st - 2x rates - 20% gold flush (49% effective gold flush) and gold dropped to 3.5x or 3x (100g = 80g, 80g = 64g, 64g = 51.2g)
january 1st - 1x rates and gold dropped to 3x if not already

this would, in essence slow things down a bit with the same results if someone quits now and comes back in january but making it a little more manageable from an active player standpoint

Well, caro amigo Portista, I believe that somehow the staff had deeply discussed about all, or most of the heavy impacts that these changes will cause, I don't see them thoughtlessly doing this like from nowhere. I just would like to know, and now that is for you Proteran, how are the reputation rates not good enough for leaving them as it is? An item from battlegrounds may take 1 hour, same goes to a level 200 item from RDF, so fast lvl200 items from exalted reputations (and enchants) could keep helping new players on gearing their characters progressively, instead of being with 138 greens, unless you decide to quest whole northrend. The only decent item from reps is ICC ring, which won't make much difference anyway considering that most Icecrown players are BiS geared. Well, decreasing them to x3 would be fine maybe, just need to farm a little bit more, but turning it directly into x1, I don't know really, it kind of feels like there's endless reputation to get...
