That's how it worked in retail, making what we had before actually be a bug, not how it was meant to be.
It's not like as if the server is blizzlike in any other aspects, so why was this particular issue singled out and dealt with before any of the others?
I quite liked having twice the lockouts to play around with, as it was simply more content....
Additionally, this change has no impact on the majority of the players, who are already fully equipped with BIS items. It only affects the new players, who are already punished by the inflation, rep decrease, profession decrease and colossal gear gap (which was made even bigger by this change).
Are you (developers) sure that this is the right course of action? From my perspective, making the server less attractive for new players will cause a steep population decrease, as fewer new players will join. The speed at which old players quit will probably be unchanged or even increased as the reduction in viable raids will lead to an increase in boredom and Dalaran idling, which is the #1 cause of quitting.
You factually added transmog and dynamic raid IDs in the same patch. One is completely custom and blizzlike in absolutely no ways for the current content and the other was to make the server more blizzlike....
I'm not bothered by the customized server, really, but the doublestandards are highly aggrevating. You can't be both custom and blizzlike...

Warmane staff has implemented a "flexible raid lock system". What I want to know is why we weren't notified of such a thing happening prior to a few mins before the implementation.
Honestly, this is getting disrespectful. Not only was "Flexible Raid System" introduced in patch 4.0.1 (http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Patch_4.0.1 - 3.3.5a knew of NO such thing!) but it was done so to introduce players to Cataclysm content. 4.0.1 was sort of a pre-patch where players got adjust to all changes that were coming (similar to pre-Legion patch in which they removed gold farming from your Garrison, but ONLY for the purpose of getting the players in the rhythm for Legion).
First the forced merge, then lowering of rates, then gold squish and finally, transmogs and dynamic raid lockouts which don't even belong in WotLK. If transmogs will be optional and we'll be able to disable them (don't get me wrong, I LOVE transmogging, but it's just not meant for WotLK), will we be able to disable dynamic lockout or is it yet another change showed down our throat? How long will you disregard your userbase in every single decision you're making?
Let's be honest, this game isn't what it used to be. Every day it's straying further away from actual WotLK.
Buddy, did you even read what "Flexible Raid Lock System" means?. Well, that's not what they're implementing.
Now for what your rant about change, allow me to retort by saying that these changes are for the greater good of the realm and target at the long run health of the realm. Considering the nature of a change, it is only natural that it has it's pros and cons, and adding the fact that the molten, excuse me, warmane's community is known for it's constant whine about pretty everything from servers merge to forum style, it's only rational that some may not like these changes albeit the necessity of such drastic measures.
And for the Transmog system, yes, you can disable this feature from the website, so you can have a sound sleep.
So glad you're the voice of reason in all of this, really.
This is about reaching out to the community prior to making (and doing!) such things which affect the gameplay we've all been used to for - not a few months, but years. I wonder if you take literally every change they put out as absolutely necessary or you actually think about them? Because some are plainly for their own benefit and some are for the longevity of the server. Molten/Warmane community whines a lot, but all I'm asking here is for the reasoning behind such things like dynamic lockout (which patch was that implemented in?) and transmogs (which patch?). If you like a non-transparent server, then please, hop on in. I, personally, want to know what's going on with the game I spend my time and money on, which I believe is anybody's right.
I said I love transmogs, not vice versa. It's about it being non-WotLK content (which is...not Blizzlike) and yet we have things supposedly implemented and imposed because "we want this to be a Blizzlike server". As The Filth said above - "You can't be both custom and blizzlike..."
The only way you can't is if you are unable to understand what "Blizzlike" means and entails - which, interestingly, is the mains reason we ourselves stopped using that term.
Anyone mind telling me how this change is going to help the server? Poeple are just going to stop raiding normals with pugs to do heroics with guild, way to scare away new commers...
It's a fully optional system we wanted to introduce. Feel free to turn it off at the first opportunity.
Unless you happen to be in an extraordinary guild, this system will be of your benefit, not detriment.
How so?
Less emblems of frost, less gear drops, less raids per week.
The opposite is true though, if you're in a top notch guild and you only care about hc kills, this is great for you. You will never have to do normals again, ever. The guild can't bully you into helping new recruits gear up in normals, because everybody is saved to that week's heroic farming.
How is any of that to my benefit? Please explain.
Only an extraordinary guild indeed would take you to a heroic run to gear you up. By the time you`re usually eligible to join a heroic run, EoFs would be -most probably- inconsequential to you.
However, it would allow you to have access to select true BiS 277 items even while gearing up, as you can just swap up trivial bossfights to heroics at leisure.
That means you can disable this and view all other players normal items instead transmogged? If no then no its not optional
Yes, there will be an option on the website to toggle it fully off, so you can see everyone in their regular appearances, without any transmogrification. It isn't up yet as final testings are still being done from what I understand, but it should be out in a little while.
