I wouldn't count your unranked experience as a valid measure of skill. If it's unranked I do not try at all, just because you can beat someone thats diamond while they are not trying and you are trying your hardest doesn't mean you can beat someone that is diamond and trying
Got my DJ Sona from a chest... I had only bought her a few days earier.
Hextech is the best thing, I found my new main Jhin in a chest and 2 chests later his only Skin. Since then he's been by my side for the past 2 months.
It's also an assumption that simply because someone is playing unranked, they're not trying their best or hard at all. Just because you don't respect unranked enough to put in serious effort doesn't mean the other people on your team and the enemy team aren't trying. Unranked experience is most certainly a valid measure of skill. People playing less than their best simply means it's harder to evaluate. If you've ever followed pro players you'd know they're obviously extremely good at the games they're playing, but they also put in hundreds and thousands of hours into the ranked systems in their respective games. Someone like Grace will inevitably have fewer ranked games played, and for valid reasons, but it makes her no less capable at Overwatch.

If it's harder to evaluate which means your confidence of the results is much lower, one could even say that this would mean it's impossible to determine. When you calculate statistics you can also calculate confidence, you'll have a **** confidence when using unranked data. Do you know if they were trying? They probably were not since that is the entire reason to play unranked is to relax and have fun not be competitive. Watch any stream where someone goes from playing ranked to unranked, they will relax and have fun and not be worried about winning or losing. Saying that you're better than a player because you beat them while playing unranked when they weren't trying doesn't make any sense and should be no way to base your skill.
Compared to the professional player yes she is less capable, she said she learned from the professional player. I guess i'm as capable as Karrigan for stealing the spot he uses on dust 2, or Get_Right because I stand in the spot he uses, and i'm also better than ScreaM because i know what a one tap is. Can I pull off a ScreaM one tap? Nope, i just know what it is so by your logic I am as capable as ScreaM. I'm going to go pro now, thanks orphic for telling me i'm as capable.Someone like Grace will inevitably have fewer ranked games played, and for valid reasons, but it makes her no less capable at Overwatch.
Want to know the secret to have people not go "oh you only have 2 ranked games you suck" or "you can only beat diamonds on unranked"? You give them which professional you learned it from.
I am so jelly with this Overwatch talk. I always wanted to play. I wish there was a way to play with PC players with PS4.
Get Rick to build you a PC.
It sure is harder to evaluate in unranked, but it's invalid to say that you cannot determine a relative skill level based on quick play. Just because your streamer cares less about winning or losing doesn't mean they don't try, or aren't more skilled than most other people playing. They're still far better than the majority of people they're playing with and will demonstrate this skill either way. Go watch Seagull play relaxed games and crush everybody, even when he's relaxed. My issue with your statements is you for some reason think unranked is the place where people go to be utter **** and nobody tries, when that's simply incorrect. It's foolish to assume unranked = relaxed = not trying = no way to gauge skill. It's harder, that's true. But seriously, stop treating ranked like the end-all-be-all determiner of skill. I know so, so many people who are phenomenal at the games they play but for a variety of reasons can't or don't want to dedicate the time to become a highly ranked player.
That's not even close to what I said. I said it makes her no less capable as a player, not compared to a professional. None of my speech was meant to compare her to a professional, which is utterly ridiculous since she doesn't care to be compared to them, nor is it fair to compare her to one of them.Nope, i just know what it is so by your logic I am as capable as ScreaM. I'm going to go pro now, thanks orphic for telling me i'm as capable.
When it comes to theory, however, you can have an opinion without playing at that level. I don't need to be a pro LCS player to be able to point out when Doublelift ruins teamfights or throws games, or argue with someone else on which team has better macro play and which team has better individual skill.
Edit: I'm not interested in getting into another drawn-out argument, so I'll settle my case by saying unranked is a harder way to determine skill, but not impossible.

I'm a moderator. Everything I say is hostile. :^)
As everybody knows, mods exist solely to ****talk you but be untouchable.
This *** licking is gonna make me puke.
That is a good idea or to give me his brand new PC. :D :D !!
I am like 90% memory capped on my laptop. I don't think OW will fit, since I had to uninstall HS. :(
Legion takes up like 60% of my memory. <.<

I was gonna write you a wall of text based on experience from mid to absolute top level of skill in some games I played, but I rather just keep it short. I won't go into OW as a topic either, cuz I play it 30 min after work once in a blue moon, so I'll keep it general because the basic system remains intact. You have literally no point, since you claim someone has a value with his/her opinion but you fail to provide any detail to what your evaluation is based on. If it isn't based on the top level of skill and knowledge, then what is it? Are you trying to say it's unfair to be compared to the highest level of skill, but it's fair to compare someone who's decent/good to someone who's mediocre/bad? And sure, you can have an opinion on something, feel free to have that. But reality looks different, if someone can show that his level of play is higher then yours, keep your mouth shut and learn. I didn't argue with my mentor at work, I didn't argue with dota 1 pros about tactics when I played HoN with them, it's about knowing your place and working your way up. If you have a point, let it be known and drop it. This is also the case if everyone is worse then you, let them know whats up, what you believe the issue is and then focus on yourself. That's why there are so many people stuck in certain brackets blaiming their teams, they rather focus on argueing instead of looking what little bit they can do better within the game they are currently losing (or possibly winning). Sometimes, tiny improvements in your own gameplay, can turn the tide.
And just to add this in, people in unranked generally do play worse, because there is a lot more to games like OW, dota, CS, etc. There's a lot of aspects to those games and some of them simply can not be improved in unranked matches for multiple reasons unrelated to player skill.
Don't be nervous, don't lose sleep the night before work and best of luck!
