Whew... Yeah I bought it for college work. I had a desktop but it broke when I moved across country.
Yeah, I was already assuming that you bought it for a specific use and not for gaming. Now the desktop breaking when you're moving sounds like a pain in the butt. Did you do it through a transport company? If yes, did you ask them to assume the damage done to the equipment? They should be held responsible for that, if that's the case.
The way I see it, everyone is allowed to play in the way they want to play. If people join competitive matches and they're still "new" they will be placed on lower tiers in order to develop among the players on their level. What's the problem with that? If that person is holding you back that means that you still belong on that rank as well because you're still being queued with those people. Not accepting this simple fact, specially when matchmaking systems are being improved in every single game, it's your own fault since you're denying the chance of your own development as a player.
That's pretty much on point, couldn't agree more with this. It's sometimes quite funny when people make a smurf and start climbing for fun, when they cruise through lower rankings where they dont belong, those "bad teams" don't hold them back. But once they hit their normal MMR, those teams suddenly become an issue again. At times you will eventually lose a game or two due to your team, but that's why the average will matter and not individual games. If you are a consistently good player, then you WILL be climbing the ranks to where you should be.

Was a transport company, yes. But don't give her ideas, I was trying to hang myself when I had to use her desktop, too bad the keyboard and mouse were wireless.

When they hit their normal MMR, the typical rants about how the community is toxic start. That's the funny part about those people. They can't ignore it because they're part of it, if they weren't, they wouldn't waste time making rants like the ones I've seen in this thread before. Usually, when I start getting flooded with negativity, I either squelch the players in question or I close all the possible communication within the game. Even the so called "professionals" do it when they're being overflooded with toxic statements that won't improve the team performance. Sure, it is quite bad when you have to do such a thing, however, what's the point of keep those possible communications open when nothing positive for the team performance is coming out of that? At least you'll keep yourself more calm and relaxed in order to try to pickup the slack of other team members. This is simple psychology. Like you've stated, if people are consistent on their performance they'll start climbing the charts and ranks - But in order for this to happen they need to embrace the fact that they also need constant improvement and development. Just because you've ended on a top tier in a possible season that doesn't automatically make you better than the other; Show it with your performance and develop even more with the small mistakes you're making. That kind of behaviour is the behaviour that actually takes you to top ratings and nothing else.

Be a good guy then. Buy her a new machine! Afterall, you'll be making yourself a favor as well right?
@sushikitty, grab the opportunity, go.
What?
How small is your hdd? I have WoW installed on my 120GB SSD and it's just over 1/3rd of it.
No laptop post-2013 comes with anything less than 500MB HDD.
