It is 187, however do keep in mind that heirlooms count as ilvl 1 - and, you might have to relog once you acquire it!
Not sure why people want to jump straight into heroics when you can rep farm and get the necessary ilvl for heroics.
Because it's faster gear, especially when heroics give emblems while reputations do not. They should be able to do heroics if their item level is appropriate anyway.
It *should* be 187 or 188. But if it's not letting you queue, push your item level a little higher.
Thanks, Mercy. I just had Item level of 189 (I bought cheap shouders with inteligence just to boost my Item level and see and it still didnt let me. Only things I have under item level 180+ are shouders and trinkeds, both not so easilly obtained.... so... time to grind more.
It maybe faster but I do not recommend it especially if you plan on playing a tank or healer it's pretty frustrating joining a rdf hc and the tank literally has like only a couple pieces of tank gear and a small health pool or the healer ooms all the time because they have low mana pool or not enough spirit or mp5. I'm all for lowbies doing rdf hc i dont mind playing with guy as low as 3kgs in heroic dungeons.
Although those things are truly different, I would still like to make an analogy (even though it might be considered as invalid).
I like to compare RDF and RBG. It is completely acceptable to fail at RBG, since the opposing team should have as much chance to win said BG. However, most people don't accept to fail an RDF (most likely since the average GearScore is much higher than it was on retail); yet, it shouldn't be: in RDF, if you happen to find yourself in a situation where too many people have gear not high enough to handle the dungeon, it doesn't mean that the people who play with such gear shouldn't go into RDF. It just means that the god of luck didn't like you. Try again and next time, or maybe the one following that one, it will work.
The thing I love about WoW, and most RPG's, is the aspect of perseverance: if you want something, by doing it again and again, you will eventually succeed (well, in PVP it's a bit more complicated since your opponents evolve too). Let's keep things blizzlike.
