Ok, so here is something I found very interesting last night. So I gave up trying to farm in alliance starting zones and decided "Lets try Durotar". Being the belly of the beast I thought this was likely suicide but it wasn't. I was able to get my mining from 14 to 100 last night between Durotar and Crossroads. I am seeing now why so many say "Mining nodes are fine" and others argue the contrary. It seems Horde zones are working decently and alliance zones are either camped hard or not working properly.
Also Empyrean thanks for responding with an official post. Gives hope for sure.
I think that only possible solution might be reduce respawn of Mining Nodes several times (I think 5 times faster might be actually ideal...). Problem is there are people who are farming Vanilla zones 24/7. And with current respawn time, they can farm whole zone and always make it to next node and next node....and just wait for respawn...
So new people who come to zone have almost no chance to see, mine any nodes in that zone.
By reducing respawn time, people should not be able to get to every node exactly when it respawns... so if there is more people farming. Everyone can actually get some nodes.
+1 For Higher Spawn Rate and 2x higher "reward" for finding the vein. Its few minutes ago (0:30 am - Server time) I had to fight two of 70 players in Fargodeep Mine just for 3 Copper veins ._. Its nearly impossible to find any copper vein even this late night >.>
2 actualization for the server in 2 weeks, nothign for fix veein! and the moderator say " we are not ignoring the ppl" nice try but the admins are ignoring us! thats its clear...
Why you dont add the system of random spawning for thorium and mithril, like in outland area, and the outland veins are to many, check the ah prices on fel iron ore and admantite ore, that to low because to many spawns.
You manged to add a system for outland content you should b able to add some for pre-tbc content to because already to many took advantage of this slow spawn on pre-tbc content.
And there are areas with lot of nodes and other areas where are like 4-5 nodes of rich thorium or mithril deposits. YOu can make it more accesible.
Example
thorium ore price 50-60 gold stack, adamantite price 10-12 gold stack.
not healthy for server economy,
The auction house will gone be flooded with Gems and other things related to ore farming making it have no value in some time.
Could anyone who has endured this grind PM me with some useful locations and tips? Ive spent the better part of the week stuck at 124 mining literally unable to find 1 iron node in 2-3 trips around feral as and desolace. Also checked thousand needles and not even a tin node. It's really frustrating at this point
1. Deadmines for Copper and Tin
2. Uldaman for Iron and Mithril (Its a pain in the ***, but not so frustrating as running 30min around and getting nothing)
Excluding professions, this is by far the best scripted TBC server I've ever played on. It's not "all" about money, they sure put down a ton of work on keeping it high quality.
I know this is "being looked at" already, but something *really* needs to be done quickly. Mining is absolute agony to level, and I assume Blacksmithing, Engineering, and JC are all ludicrously expensive due to the scarcity of ore.
I was doing laps around Arathi Highlands and seeing fewer than 5 nodes per full lap. That's pretty absurd. You could easily quadruple the spawn rate of mining nodes without crashing the market, that's how bad it is.
Yesterday at 17:00-18:00 GMT+2 made a full run in Winterspring (Outland server) found 2 Rich Thorium Veins.
Today 9:00 GMT+2 made a full run in Winterspring (Outland server) found 0 Rich Thorium Veins. Population 8145 players. Didn't meet anyone else mining or looking for veins.
I will update this thread with all my future runs and you will see how it is ridicolous with the spawning rates and vein amount.
The "mining nodes crisis" is now heavily highlighted, which is good. But what about herb nodes ? They're submitted to the same problem, especially in outlands. Are they included in the solutions you are working on ?
(Just a question : does someone knows if the Fel Lotus droprate is ok ?)
