So I've got a 5.6k frost dk and I want to play another melee but I can't really decide. I'm gonna state overall I enjoy seeing #1 meters (I know I'm a loser) and really fast pace combat.
Fury Warrior - I'm conflicted on this because it seems like they're either really good or awful. I don't know really what makes them any better than something else
Combat Rogue - They're decent and fun but at the same time it seems like hardly anyone plays this over assassination (I'm not a fan of assassination)
Ret Paladin - They seem alright just kinda slow
Enhancement Shaman - Is this spec even good? I don't ever see one when I run ICC 25 or if I do he's usually middle of the pack on dps
That's really the only classes I'm choosing between and was wondering what the community has to say about them.
Fury warrior is very gear dependent. In BiS gear it tops the dmg charts on most boss encounters.
Rog can also top the dmg charts but deals usually a bit less than fury.
Ret is a supporter that deals solid dps and brings usefull buffs to the raid.
EnH is underestimated by most ppl. When played properly it deals pretty equal dps to Ret paly.
The decision is up to u. If u want a challenge then play EnH. If u want to top the dmg charts play warr or rog.
No,shamans are probably the worst dps class in wotlk, they will never come close to decent rets with equal ilvl(that means no Shadowmourne) and skill. If you want to be on top five you either have to pick warrior/rogue/dk/ret/feral druid for melee if we're talking about the same skill level for these classes.
Anyone can drop a totem to the ghouls and aoe(you were called out on that beforehand if my memory serves my right)(i'd add if a warrior/paladin/dk cant surpass you on aoe since you're hellbent on LK 25 hc,now THATS a l2p issue),please link one where you're #3 on a dummy fight such as fester hc or dbs hc,as they're the most relevant ST fights.
Avarage fester 25 hc rankings(taken from WoL)

That's a comparison on DBS, 15th highest Enh shammy pulled 18.2k, highest one pulled 19.7k. Meanwhile the 15th highest Ret pulled 19.7k, and highest one did 20.6k.
You're not seeing his point. A single video means little. Bensten is a very polished raider with a good intuitive sense of maximizing every effort to dish out more damage. His Enha Shammy would most certainly have been outclassed by his own Ret or Fury, for instance.
Even if a computer played your enhancement shaman you'd never do better than melee class X (excluding sub rogue and arms warrior). There's nothing to compare at all.
@OP
Ret paladins have a relatively dynamic playstyle. You need to watch out for your swing timer and if you execute your priority (near) flawlessly you will receive great results. It also has the ability to influence a fight dramatically via Hand of Salvation/Protection/Sacrifice, Lay on Hands, Aura Mastery and instant Flash of Light. If you don't like the fdk playstyle, I'd recommend a ret paladin.

Thats a 5% DPS difference. Thats what I call pretty equal DPS.
I see his point.
Its to make EnH shami look bad once again by just repeating what others say about the class.
In fact most raiders haven't even seen a skilled EnH shami because the word that the spec would be "utter trash" is kept beeing spread so they are not even invited to HC raids.
I see his point.

I would agree that the spec is more viable than most people have yet come to realize. While it is viable however, in terms of damage output, it occupies the lower ends of the spectrum among the other specs that are viable.

No you don't.My point was that while its viable, all the other classes outperform it in melee, unless they're piloted by bad players or they're afk/lagging hard.So even if someone manages to master enchancement,he/she will still be the worst on the melee list when racing against players piloting mastered warriors/rogues/dks/ferals/rets,it doesn't matter how high that is in overall.
