How are shamans compared to druids for solo/casual play?
Hi everyone. I'm fighting between this two classes for casual/solo play. I read druids are good at it but i'm interested in shamans too due to their plate wearing and shield but i can't find anything about them for solo. How are they compared to druids?

Shamans wear Mail not Plate.
I can only speak for Ele shaman, but in PvP they are beasts, PvE they won't top the DPS meters but you'll need atleast 1 of them on every raid and their rotation is quite easy.

Ops... Sorry. So are they easier than druids to learn and play? How about solo play?
Shamans definitely aren't good in solo play, they do well playing behind others. Enhancement is one worst specs in game as well. Feral is good for solo play but not easy. Ele sham is better than balance druid imo.
before you open the next threat and ask: how are shamans compared to rogues... just make your own experience.
the funny thing is that you dont even write which expansion and server u want to choose....
just play a shamy and enjoy it.
in 3.3.5 and especially on icecrown i enjoyed playing enhancement a lot. Also u can even switch to resto and heal or play him ele.

I would say, go Druid. Even though Shamans wear Mail, they are rather squishy unless you are good with them. With Druids, you got 4 different play-styles to try out + a higher survivability due to several reasons. I've seen resto Druids solo questing at lower levels without any problems as well. So, you can imagine how easy it is for Feral and Balance (tho, Balance Druids run out of mana fast but they have a crazy damage output)
Both classes are complex if you want to get the most out of them but Druids have more options.
For solo i assume you mean leveling ? if so, go druid. shaman is awful, the quest for totems takes forever in the beginning, while druids get bear at 10 easy and cat at 20 no quest needed. what more shaman get water shield really late so u will have lots of down time.
but shaman is much better looking than druid imo (pvp gear :DD) and got quite some burst
