1. OR some kind of MMR system could be cool. So that fresh lv80s with greens are not in the same team as Shadowmourne wielders.

And what does skill have to do with gear?

  3. And what does skill have to do with gear?
I like this tell him please. Skill >gear

  4. And what does skill have to do with gear?
Thats a nice strawman... But to answer ur question. Gear is gear and skill is skill (2 different things), but in the end its both related very closely, because:
Skilled players are much more likely to have better gear, for obvious reasons: They get invited to better groups, have better arena rating and so on... so they can get better gear and have more advantage over other players.

Not in case when ppl with +/- same skill fight and some of them got 3k gs and others 6k gs. In this case gear>skill.

People will always complain about unbalances and higher gear wins them lol,but as you said usually geared players are better because they try harder to earn their gear.

And no,if someone donates he donates to not do same and same raids for gear... its p2catch up most people dont realise this.

Yep, i agree. Though In some games, even in later wow expansions, there are things and matchmaking systems that fight this imbalance and help new players, but...
I dont think anything like this can be implemented on wotlk warmane servers though.
And y, i believe that some(not many imho) ppl got skill/experience but buy most gear from shop to catch up faster. I dont like it and i dont think its worth it, but what can i do :).

Last time I checked, Shadowmourne does not imply high MMR. People with no arena games at all even have it.
So I don't see how MMR makes Shadowmourne magically disappear.

I was not talking about shadowmourne at all. I reacted to your argument/question: "And what does skill have to do with gear?".
    No offense meant though :).
I think Paperlolz did mean "shadowmourne wielders" as simplyfied expression to super geared ppl vs new pvpers with crap gear. And as i said, i dont think any new "gearwise" matchmaking system(for both BGs and arenas) would be effective and fair, so we might both agree on this. I dont do pvp much anyway, so who knows :).

  9. And what does skill have to do with gear?
Nothing tangible. But there would be a slight correlation between gear level and MMR. Which would help a lot if crossrealm BGs are implemented.

I meant implementing a BG MMR system so that people win often and frequently will see their "BG MMR" rise quickly so that they will not be matched with players who have not won a single BG yet.

Shadowmourne was merely to illustrate a geared player that has likely won many BGs already.

Yes. There will be terrible players running around with Shadowmourne in lower MMR brackets. Or maybe they might deliberately try to stay there to farm low MMR opponents (like what occurs in Arena at the moment). But either way it would be an improvement on the 'no rules' current system where premade groups of 15 using preform simply destroy a random group of players.

  10. lordaeron and icecrown players are almost equal atm. they also have 277 gear and sm so stop crying

  11. ...Alliance premades because they compleately own bg's on Icecrown.
Nope they don't. I'm a member of pvp guild from horde side. And we lose like 5% of our games. If we play vs ally premade win depends mostly on number of healers.
Anyway we can tell the same thing, if we play vs team without premade ( we own all bg's). This is stupid as hell.
