Faction Change Reputation?

Hello there I'm wondering if my reputations are going to remain intact when I do the faction change.
I've seen you've been offering faction changes for free but my brother told me he didnt get his reputations when he did faction change,
so he has to do all reputation farming over again and there are some other stuff as well I'd like covered as there is not much said
on the character trasnfer page besides you will be getting a character look in a different faction which is in my opinion not worth it,
in case people want to transfer over to alliance and continue their journeys not start over again as leveling is pretty much easy on outland.
So if possible I'd like someone to clarify me and explain what are the benefits of transfering to ally and what are the bad things
that come along before I do any action.

faction change will copy your factions over (except Tranquillien, since there's no alliance version of that faction) so if you were exalted with Thrallmar you'll now be exalted with Honor Hold, Mag'har = Kurenai, Orgrimmar = Stormwind, etc
also you WILL keep all of your gear, again mounts will change to alliance versions where appliccable

Upsides of swapping:
join the underdog faction with (I think?) faster bg queues
there's not much else that happens, which is why the factions remain skewed, there's no motivation for more than a handful of people to swap over

Downsides of swapping:
you can't go back horde for free because there's always much more hordes than alliance

Thanks for a swift response buddy. I was mainly wondering about reputation as my brother was orc warrior and when he swapped to nelf he got no reputations back that was my main concern as I said nobody would like to farm reputations from beginning. :)
