Whats up with people complaining about queues all the time? I mean legit, not trolling or wanting to be mean.
Before I met one of these people IRL I thought it might just be 10 to 14 year olds not having money or access to credit cards/paysafe(?)...
But this dude, who burns around 100 to 200 bucks a month for games, he barely plays over 10h, out right said:
"I'm not paying 10 Euros for a private server" with the the word "private" in the most condecending tone.
I mean is this the problem?
Or people asking for a bigger cap > 12k so they dont have to wait in line for 5h...
I mean, seriously, who hast the time of the day to sit in a line for 5h every day to play a little WoW, but not 10 bucks to blow on a game they sink Weeks of their lifes in? I don't get it.
I mean, real players or not, fake queue or not. I've been playing on and off on private servers whilst playing retail since retail TBC and this project seems to be on of the stablest and most reliable I have ever seen. Back in TBC I once leveled a char for 12d played on an authentic vanilla server, just to have it cloed after 1 month and my char being gone and this server is running how long? 8 years now?
I don't just don't get this negative attitude, do people really not realise how ****ing expensive and time consuming something like this is?
Totally agree man. This is identical to when I played wotlk retail. Warmane has been more reliable in a few years of playing and has had less lag and DDOS etc than the frickin retail blizz classic i played for a few months LOL I even brought ppl here from classic ffs :D
I am no fanboy don't get me wrong there are imbalances and if you wanna pvp and be super competetive icecrown is def the way to go. But hey its free if you want it to be. Its free and has given me less grief than classic! Thats kinda messed up right. I did donate even though I was on Lord and will probably donate more I mean i play as much as I would on retail and thats $20 CAD a month for me basically.
People seem to want everything for nothing really. I really don't see how people can play a game for 40 hours plus a month and not think its worth 15 bucks? Like dude you can't even go see one movie for that these days lol Entertainment is important and 15 bucks is a joke really. Ppl QQ about p2w but heres the thing.
You can donate once and then sell gold and characters for coins. It will take a little while but you can essentially have that shadowmourne or w/e and have only spent 15 bucks. You can raid and get BiS also somewhat easily on icecrown. You also have the option to not even get into one raid, spend 15 bucks ONE TIME and STILL get BiS PVE or PVP gear lol Its better than say retail or classic where if all you wanna do is PVP you arent forced to raid if you don't like PVE.
You have to raid in classic to compete in PVP which sucks for some and is kinda lame. (fixed in TBC) You don't have to PVP to be able to PVE. Here you have the option to raid to get gear, pay money to get gear, or pay a super small fee and farm your gear. You can pick one or all three its your choice. The only thing to qq about is toxic folks lol but hey you gonna find those special awesome people everywhere you go.
From what I can see the big difference between warmane and retail or classic is the support and time to talk to gm etc but wtf do you expect? They would probably need 25-50 fulltime gms to have a 4-6 hour response on tickets. I have waited for almost 2 days to have a ticket closed while playing (and paying) BC or WOTLK when it was live.
And OP I was super surprised but there are actually countries where you cannot buy temp visa cards they do not exist. If you don't have a visa or w/e you are beat. This is by far and wide the extreme minority but it is the case for more ppl than you would think. There are alot of places you can travel in the world where you can't buy toilet paper lol it doesn't exist O.o
People like to think its the same everywhere but nuh uh. People also sub to classic and STILL have 5 hr q's right meow!!!
It's mostly because people go onto a private server expecting free WoW so when they get cockblocked by queue (which is created because everyone else wants free **** aswell) they complain. Also, a lot of people are just spoonfed brats who expect everything to be handed to them and instantly or else, once again, they will complain.
You also need to take into the account the massive amount of new players (because of corona) who weren't on Warmane before, so the concept of overcrowded servers is new to them.
Private servers are known for closing. It's a hard sell after having such a long history of it happening eveywhere. People see value in long term investments, and some just live that way. In most cases, this is a "gamble" because this server could close tomorrow, and that money would just be gone. Yes, it's 10 euros, but some people work honestly and work hard for their money, so it's hard to part with it, unless the value is justified.
Some of the richest people shop at walmart to this day, simply because they hold a high value over their hard earned living, and prefer to always have extra on hand, even though they're loaded.
I'm one of those people, but I saw value here, because I know the history of this server and worked with some of the staff before Warmane appeared. (not directly/not saying I'm affiliated/not claiming I know anyone on the staff currently or was friends with anyone before/this is just my example of the trust I have for the longevity of this server)

So you're saying that queue is indeed made in order to pay 10 euros as a must to enter? Yeah I thought so.
Back in the days, before and around vanilla/tbc/woltk, I hated every game where you could get an edge with money with a passion. One had way more time than money and it was all about competing and defining yourself.
Now the same people, well some at least, have way more money than time.
Who wants to do chores after a day/week of real life chores in a video game? People just want to chill and play, not farm a single item for days or spend time in ****ing queue.
I had more fun farming classic/tbc rep or doing mc runs with a friend than actually grinding out stuff I needed to compete in raids/pvp ;)

I'm saying queue exists because server can only handle so much. The fact that people can't muster the 2 brain cells they have left and figure that out is another topic entirely.
