1. I'm just waiting for warmane to implement the retail like loot (at least when I was there, wod).
Boss drops a few items, but only one for one player. If there's 5 of you, 2-3 will get an item. Rest will get nothing.
No more rolls, no more people whining. You did it to yourselves.
Personally I would welcome this feature a lot, as it would greatly solve a lot of in-game drama and it would minimize the number of the daily ninja reports. However, I can see a couple of reasons why this suggestion would get rejected:

    - it's hard to implement;
    - it might cause a lot of bugs;
    - even though we have custom features like transmog, I suspect many people would want to experience wotlk as they remembered it back in retail and wouldn't agree with this one.

  2. @ OP

The ninja policy is the same. Aldtharios only updated the rules, so that they would be clearer. But even in the past rolling NEED on items for your OS was considered a bannable offence.
And it was 1 line of text "- In RDF needing on items for OS (unless everyone in party is explictly fine with this)."
Which just gets thrown out the window by peole who can't speak english or don't want to and just opends up to trolling in rdf's.

The rules still say clear and simple "- Player need rolling (group loot) on items which he cannot even use."
Being able to use an item for offspecc is not the same as "Which he cannot even use"
Needing items for your offspecc isn't ninja as long as the Tank himself dosen't need it, That's an unwritten rule that has been around 16 years.

I feel like the GM team will believe anything anyone tells them without properly finding more about it
If your post is true that's exactly what I feared would happend.

Yea, I've played retail when this system was in use.

Honestly, there is no other system thats so dull, boring and non-rewarding. It was one of the reason that I've stopped playing on retail. Add reforging to this and we have 2/4 riders of the apocalypse ready.

Need item for Your current MS? Need. Wanna take it for OS? Greed. You wanna need on item thats for Your offspec? Ask before Need, 9/10 times people do not give a single **** about it. Im playing warmane for years and I gotta tell the ninja looting in game is not even 10% as big problem as its showed on warmane forum.

  4. We got banned already without any chance of proving ourselves; we could use both items (there were even only 2; Damaged necklace for JW and an Attack ring for DK). It's disappointingly how easy you can get someone "report" you and get banned without the GM's giving it a second opinion

  5. Well every single plate dps user has leather / Agility offparts as "BiS" gear, and it's not the same as Hunter needing on STR... Could you possibly link your DK friends name so we can Armory check?

People are still confused about whats bannable or not.
If 4 people needing a blue BoE, I cannot need, Because if I win I get banned?
What if I ask if I can need an item for my OS and no one or some player do not reply? Do I take that as a Yes?
As some people mentioned before how in gods name is it, that a mage can say no to me asking if I can roll for a shield, That he cannot even use, just because he want's a chanse to win a Abyss crystal? Since when did items (that you cannot buy) became equally worth materials (that there's several thousands of in ah)?.

I belive Aldtharios had the best intentions when implementing this, but it's damn near impossible to make perfect "loot rules" and there's loopholes all over, no matter how hard you try to perfect it.

A lot of players don't even know about the ninja loot rules before someone in game tells them, Because they are inconveniently put into the "Reporting Players" thread, and if thats not inconveniently enough it's also 3 posts down.
"Players Code of Conduct" is almost the same in every online game nowadays and who reads them? About the same ammount of people who reads through the "Terms and coditions" everytime they update their steam / itunes / Windows, whatever, So no wonder GM's are getting overwhelmed with reports, and no wonder at the end of they day they care less about your opinions.

    He's wearing:
·Hateful Gladiator's Band of Triumph (honor ring = PvP ring)
·Savage Titanium Ring (JW ring I made myself that is for PvP too).

We are mostly pvp gear based and that's why we want to get those gears that might be better in dungeons that our current pvp gears, still Agility gives armor & crit. instead of "resilience rating" that doesn't give anything for PVE. I could understand if there was a rogue/hunter in the party but there weren't any. Just mage, priest and the 2 palas (me healer and the other tank). We already pass (not even greed) on the items we see the other people might want/need and we don't create any drama for it

  7. The same thing that happened to Roseroth happened to me. I'm playing a retribution paladin, I joined a 'walk-in-HC-group'(since gearlocking content/rdf is stupid in that way)(this is also the reason why i was able to roll on leather).
Then a leatherpiece droped, which was an upgrade for me, i rolled on it, and I won.
The rogue in our group was pissed and started flaming me, i tried to explain it to him, that i also need that item, and its an upgrade. Even the mage in our group sided with me, but the rogue wouldnt listen. He kept insisting, I was a ninja. I put him on ignore, he loggon onto different chars and flamed me(but thats a whole other topic).

Anyway, i started my research, since I was in the believe, that i cant get banned for needing for MS items, and since we play on 3.3.5 itemization is stil a little 'wonky'. I found this threat, which desribes my issue really well.
    http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=421975
it sadly hasnt been answered by staff yet.

I wrote my appeal, where i describe my situation, but no response(yet), which seems odd, when you considder how fast the GMs responding to someone screaming 'ninja', and how little they care about facts, when pressing the BANbutton.

Anyway, the primary issue of the whole ninja debacle is, that the rules are up for interpretation.
So when someone comes short, he screams 'NINJA', and forces the issue, the GMs usually side with whoever screamed 'ninja'. The GMs dont really want to get involved(do little fact checking, from my expierience) so they are fast when it comes to a BAN.

(when writing my appeal, i found an intersting thing about thing about the ban procedure:
    "Current procedure:
Gamemasters will whisper you to provide details about your ban before it takes place."

this definetly did not happen for me, I assume this rarely happens when it comes to ninja accusations..
(im aware this is an old post, but please, espesiaclly when the warmane policy on how/what is ninjalooting is so unclear, talk to the people))

here is an armory link to my charakter: (the leather chest is what im currently banned for)
    http://armory.warmane.com/character/...mourne/summary

  8. you forgot this part. Gamemasters will whisper you to provide details about your ban before it takes place. This is not a chance for you to reply complaining or try to negotiate the ban. If you are away or not even in-game during the issuing of your ban, information about it can be found in the account panel.

non of that happened, and i provided the whole link.

I wasnt planning on complaining/arguing, and i was trying to figure out what exactly is bannable. and appearantly i cant roll on MS gear. OR the GM didnt bother to check what was going on, and just listened to someone who was screaming 'ninja'.
