Hi y'all, so I recieved a ban for needing on a weapon that is clearly on my pre-bis list vs a healer.
Some context - Boomkin(me) Tree(healer) the weapon is pre-bis for both myself and the healer as seen in the link below: https://legacy-wow.com/wotlk-caster-druid-pre-raid-bis/
War Mace of Unrequited Love – Heroic Nexus (Keristrasza)
My problem is, I got banned for this. I have created a ban appeal 2 days ago and I am yet to even get a look at it. From what it seems, I will sit the entire ban and lose the weapon all because GM's (I say this with respect) Don't do their job correctly by doing a correct investigation or even bother to respond.
I am coming forward about this as I do not want this to be a "thing" for the community to have to deal with.

Alot of people give these GMs flack for DOING their job. They made a judgement call, which they all agreed on. I'm pretty sure I get reported daily for being a bot, and thankfully, they have their heads on straight. Read this forum, and look at previous reports that were "false". You will realize their bull**** meter is pretty active and their judgement is sound.
Don't bother with ban appeals at the moment, because the new server has them completely booked.
Alright so I'm actually this guy's friend, I don't think he's checking the thread anymore, but the mace he was using at the time was the level 78 blue mace from Stratholme normal. (Beguiling Scepter)
I feel like there must be more to this story (maybe it was something else that actually warranted the ban).
Otherwise I'm not sure why needing almost anything in heroics would warrant a ban ever in an RDF (except MAYBE in the completely obvious case where you will never equip it, such as you already had a ilvl232/264 or something). That feels like a dangerous precedent to set.
Too late it is already here. I've seen people asking if they can roll for a clear upgrade that only they can equip in that dungeon group because of this rule, and because they are not certain that GM who would be reviewing the ticket has common sense.

Not so sure -- I've been needing stuff that are marginally upgrades for my MS for years and haven't been banned yet. I don't need for OS unless I ask first (or the MS clearly passed already), as this is the only rule listed on the matter:
- Player need rolling (group loot) on items which he cannot even use.
- In RDF needing on items for OS (unless everyone in party is explictly fine with this).
- Need rolling for other players to have 2 or more roll chances at one item.
It never says "can't roll need on an item better for someone else" anywhere there. That's why I go back to...there's clearly more to this story (maybe he was clearly needing for someone else, etc).
People are still confused about whats bannable or not.
If 4 people needing a blue BoE, I cannot need, Because if I win I get banned?
What if I ask if I can need an item for my OS and no one or some player do not reply? Do I take that as a Yes?
As some people mentioned before how in gods name is it, that a mage can say no to me asking if I can roll for a shield, That he cannot even use, just because he want's a chanse to win a Abyss crystal? Since when did items (that you cannot buy) became equally worth materials (that there's several thousands of in ah)?.
same thing happened to me. I've been here and there in the forum, and it appears its a common thing, the ninjaloot policy is up for interpretation and all it needs is one goofy to scream 'NINJA', and a GM who doesnt bother checking any facts. and then you get a 5 day ban, for rolling on an item, which you need for your MS.
its bonkers, the current ninjaloot-policy gives the people who abuse this kind of stuff way more power.
so instead of denying the 'unpleasant players' it gives them an edge and another tool, to punish people, who roll for MS.
This is all over mp5. People say not dps stat. The same argument has been had over spirit. A boomy getting it is not ninja. A dk getting it is ninja. Assuming the mace is actually what the ban was all about. I just know that this is the realm that banned friend of mine for reporting a player fly-hacking. It took days for him to get it straightened out. He no longer plays here the moltdown was to much for him.
