On June 17, 2016, I joined Warmane. Been loving it ever since, but took an extended break. I come back to find that warmane allowed my email address to be changed on my account from another IP address. The account was then stolen, used for botting and banned. I'm amazed that warmane allowed the email address to be changed without verification from the original email address that the account is registered to. it seems that the easiest way to prevent such a thing would be to require a verification link in the original email address that must be used to reset email. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what was your recourse?

The easiest way is to make use of the tools we provide to keep your account secure. If you had either form of 2-step authentication active they wouldn't have been able to login on your account to change the email in the first place.
no reply yet. My forum support ticket was reviewed and the ban upheld. I have no recourse with this I guess. Such a bummer after the cash I spent here.
That was your reply. The contact via email is an alternative in case the ticket option wasn't available. It will go to the same Support and likely be just ignored due to being redundant, not have a shot at a different answer.
