Hey was wondering if anyone is successfully playing wotlk on newest mac computers. I tried running it with crossover but get always get an error right after logging in.

Can you share a print screen?
You could look how to build Wine from scratch, but keep in mind you would need to compile Wine alongside qEMU, thus Wine would be able to run under x86 emulation. This procedure might have better performance than paralles or Virtualbox hence you wouldn't need to emulate a entire computer.
I believe with the new mac os big sur they disabled support for 32-bit apps, old wow clients being one of em. Meaning all old apps are unusable. You could try install mac os mojave which was the last OS to support 32-bit apps.
But yeah try that Wine thingy that guy above was on about, or try downgrade to mac os mojave.
32 bit application support was already removed in previous version of macOS and CrossOver and some versions of Wine can now bypass it and run 32 bit Windows applications. So that's not the issue.
The new ARM Macbooks can't run an earlier version of macOS so that solution won't work.

Building it from scratch sounds complicated? hvaent heard of qEMU before too, ineteresting! would love to laern how to do it if it could work
