1. Battleground and gear

How does the battleground system work? Low geared players fights againts low geared, or all in random ? Is there a gearscore / item level cap at each group or?

My 2nd question is , well if there is a separed battlegroup for each iLevel , If I buy ShadowMourne or Glorenzelg HC on a fresh 80 character at which battlegroup am I ?

  2. For the most part there are three brackets. Roughly speaking, the first one from 0-4.8k GS, the second one from 4.8k-5.8k GS, and the last one from 5.8k+ GS. There are a few caveats:

    1) The bracket system is dynamic and takes into account of several factors, such as queue times. Read the Devlog for more information: https://www.warmane.com/devlog
    2) If you buy anything BiS, you will get bumped up to the top gear bracket regardless of your gear score.

Thanks. Thats all I wanted to learn!

  4. Was wondering one thing, if this works only for BiS items, Can you buy non BiS items and still be playing on lower geared BG's ? For example over 239 iLevel weapons? This dude has Wrathful weapon at 3.5k gs and plays on lower brackets? https://ibb.co/d7hcZYm

In large battlegrounds like Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest you tend to see more lower bracket players get bumped up. I think in this case you probably got bumped up to the top gear bracket to fill the slots of a large battleground. I do not know exactly where the gear cut off is, and since it is dynamic now, maybe nobody knows. Experience tells me that anything BiS or close to BiS tends to get people bumped up to the top gear bracket, and once that happens, placing the offending item inside the bank/bag will not help. For the most part, if you use Blackrock starter gear, you will have a good chance of getting into the middle gear bracket. I have not played in the lower bracket for a few weeks because when I did get into it with my 4.2k - 4.4k GS Rets, they felt incredibly OP and I almost felt sorry for other players.

If you still want to twink, you can try getting full Furious set pieces, a 232/219 weapon from 5-man heroics, then go from there while keeping your average item levels low. Keep in mind that empty slots do not count as having an item level of 0, and if I recall correctly, heirlooms might count as level 1 and give you some advantages there. You should test the Wrathful offset pieces to see if those will prevent you from getting into the lower bracket, if they don't work, you can always return them to vendor for a refund.

Also, once Frostmourne resets after mid April, you may notice a change in the bracket system, as having any piece of equipment (even consumables) not obtainable on Frostmourne (they go through each patch) will prevent you from entering into their bracket. This may increase the chances for a lower bracket player to get bumped up to the middle bracket and can have a severe impact on your ability to twink effectively.
