If you have played on Frostmourne you could maybe relate to what I am trying to say here my ignore list is slowly filling up with people who have 0 knowledge about what they are doing but are good on calling out damage meters instead of doing mechanics (which their barely is mechanics in this raid tier maybe OS +2/3 drakes is the exception) and sadly I've encountered severe toxic behavior huge egos on a expansion that is widely accepted being one of the easiest to experience low-end to high end raiding pre LFR.
I've been in some decent semi-guild pugs with competent people that just are here to play the game and not entice and harass people but on the flipside I have been in pugs who for whatever reason enjoy being egoistical dimwits showing me they cleared naxx 25 on their main which my 5 yr old can probably do I get told by the RL to just ignore him but how can you ignore that type of person the smallest dog barks the loudest mentality when you're wiping on kara but in their tiny hamster brains damage meter>Boss actually dying.
Same thing can be applied in RDF you meet special people there I always just try to say hey man they are learning we wiped its okay but then I'm met with a barrage of hate for someone that clearly does not know how to play as a healer but nop its the tanks fault.
Yes I know this all can be avoided by just getting 'friends' or joining a guild which I'm already a part of one they just happen to raid once a week it just disgusts me that people are more degenerate then ever on Warmane I played a bit back in season 1 wasn't this bad and as someone whos been here for quite a while and recently came back this just turns me off on continuing to play WoW in general.
I took a hiatus from wow after legion because I got burnt out from raiding did not bother with BFA played a bit of classic, shadowlands is a nightmare I will not touch it unless they fix a lot of the problems in 9.1 and I can tell you from experience if you have played on retail yes you do meet the occasional hot headed meat head here and there but in general its chill on the flipside I played on Icecrown its not as nearly as bad as Frostmourne's playerbase is now.
I am pretty sure some people can relate and if you have similar horror stories please do share :)

Yet you bark how easy and whatnot everything is. Yeah, people don't know what to do. Yeah, people rather look at the recount instead of killing the boss. Yeah, people get pissed when things don't go smooth. It has been like that since dawn of time. People who don't want to learn will not learn, no matter how toxic you become yourself. The fact that retail has found a way to split everyone up so you don't interact with people doesn't mean they are not there. And in Icecream everyone is so overgeared, there is almost no chance of things going wrong for people to get pissed about.
You know that "birds of a feather flock together" or somethingsomething, change your attitude and everything will be nicer for you.
But I guess that was offtopic, here is my horror stories
I did RDF, people didnt know what to do, started to call names and stuff. Oh my god, the horror.
Joined a pug and this one guy was linking recount after every mob. When it came time to actually play he didn't know wtf to do, he obviously only ever had attacked training dummy thnking that's how to play. Still having nightmares.
One dude was wearing some weird items, not good for his spec. Talking about his gems, rather not. Gave me PTSD.
Met a random dude and he wasn't nice to me, he said "piss off". Still crying every night about that one.
You can go read 999 other posts that are copy-pasta exact 1:1 of your big nightmare. You will find out they are people with whom your played with, everyone complaining togeather in your bottom of the barrel lmao

Its not about what they do its about what they say that gets on my nerves the most when they go out of their way to make your day miserable you can't just sit there and allow it to happen I guess ignoring them might be the only way.

1st part of what you wrote is a decent explanation the 2nd part is a horrible attempt at sarcasm so I am 50/50 right now on which type of person you might be whether it would be ingame or in real life also regarding your last statement I think a lot of people who have went through the same **** whether they were the humble quiet good player or the one calling others out on their **** just don't bother posting on here and vent out in a different way instead of talking it out with people on the forums but thank you for sharing your wonderful horror stories please do share more .

You see, being humble quiet and good is not what you want. That will make you resentful, like the impression you have left here. You resent them. And that's because you are confusing what being a "good player" means, your version of it got stomped over. What you want is showing some teeth and being capable. Don't let others step on you and don't step on others, if you can. It has nothing to do with kindness, humility, "goodness" or whatever, those are nice traits to have, but if that is all you have, you are whole other kind of toxic breed.

Oh man I don't know about you but if you have played the games that I have for example League , OW, CS , Val after years of playing them and playing WoW you can really tell yourself wow is a chill game it can't be as horrible as those games were/are , those are toxic breeding games so after years of taking **** you just get either stuck between couple of choices while your playing those games either you ignore it and try to enjoy your time (which 80% of the time you won't) or you **** talk them back now to the wow topic I think a lot of people can certainly agree that WoW is the odd multiplayer game out where it does happen but not to that extent but when it does happen it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth like I just came here to chill out and have a good time by no means am I here to 'show some teeth' I'm not here to teach them how to play the game nor is it a superiority complex from my end but if they are acting like a genuine dickhead they will get what they deserve if your a nice person to be around then you will have nice people around you visa versa minus having people around you part.

All any of us can do is "show teeth" and make it clear that such behaviour is not ok. They wont learn, of coarse, until it's time to, most of us were annoying brats til some cells grew together in out heads. And that is ok. No need to do some world wide education and grand social engineering.
In the end you said it - just don't be around those people. Exactly right.
