WotLK All of my characters dissapeared

After a year of being inactive i logged back on to see that all of my characters have been deleted/dissapeared, any help?

If they were low level, they were deleted due to inactivity.

Are you sure there are no recent logins on your account?

Max level characters don't get deleted or removed, they just get their name's deleted. But I can't see any other reason for them to be missing besides someone else breaching your account.
